Is there one person that ranks the teams and their opinion is what goes in the paper?

 

They get the guy who pushes the shopping cart down the road to do it. They give him their empty cans as payment.

Hello :eek:!! The D.I. super 7 are one or more persons (as in human beings ) opinion. No matter how they formulate it still comes down to an opinion of one or more., I have no idea how they come up with it nor do I care how they come up with it.

Like I said - it is what it is............opinons. Just like all of us are putting opinions on here.

 

I beleive that the D.I. has accomplished what they wanted to with this poll - they have people talking and arguing about it.

I believe that what everyone including myself has failed to mention in this thread is this.

 

The poll is really for the kids when you get to thinking about it. These kids read these threads and like seeing their teams name ranked in poll. Especially should they be ranked high it is a source of pride for the kids.

What all of us think or say about it means nothing.

Ashland is the only team that possible miss the playoffs.

5A Johnson Central is in, Ashland will need help.

4A Boyd is in, four team district.

3A Russell is in, West is in. East is in

1A Raceland is in. Fairview is in.

IMO, no one in the "Super" 7 could beat Ironton this year - except Johnson Central and MAYBE Russell. I guess that makes most of us pretty bad.

I gotta disagree with you on this one. Ironton is really not very good. This is not the Ironton of old. Give Lutz a couple of more years and it will be.

Wait a minute. I think that Ironton is 5 - 2. After losing 2 striaght games at the start of the season they have won 5 striaght....

I thought there was a consensus of opinion to change it to the "So So Seven". That would solve all the disagreement, wouldn't it?

 

As for Ashland's "tough schedule", I suppose it depends on what other school schedules are used as a comparison. Ashland's schedule is made up of its own district teams (most of whom are average at best), two Class A schools (neither a remote threat to go to Papa John Stadium), two of the worst 4A treams in the state, Russell (a borderline Top 10 Class 3A school), and Ironton (a real "tradition" having a off year with a group of youngsters).

 

Now, that may be a good schedule for the northeast corner of the state where football is not superior by any stretch of the imagination but it pales in comparison with other similar schools with thye Ashland "tradition".

 

The truth is Ashland is not a good team at all. But, for the So So Seven, it is probably placed correctly. Still, it is a good thing for Ashland that they don't play any of those northern Kentucky schools. It would be brutal- even at Putnam Stadium.

 

Repeatedly using the excuse of the "tough schedule" doesn't make it true.

They got beat bad by Portsmouth this week 41-18.
