Personally I think it should be more like:

1. Johnson Central

2. Russell

3. Raceland

4. Fairview

5. West Carter

6. East Carter

7. Greenup Co's Freshmen Team

Rose Hill's Junior High Team

For the people who posted in the "Super 7" last week, I did name this thread the "So-So 7", as promised, but it was changed due to possible copyright infringement by an administrator - probably justifiably so. Plus, except for, about three teams, the teams in the poll are doing pretty well. Not "Super", but pretty well.

IMO the ADI's Super Seven is a joke. How could you put Ashland at 4th? Also how is East in fron of West? Aren't newspapers suppose to be unbiased??

No respect for the Comets.

And people say the media is not biased.

This is not acceptable

Ashland has played against a lot of very tough teams, inculding Russell, Woodford Co., Montgomery Co., Raceland and Pikeville.

If they had played East, West, or Fairview Maybe they could have earned some easy wins and respect.

West gets hosed again. A team that is 3-4, that beat the #6 team is tied for 7th with a team with only 1 win? I know this poll literally means nothing in the scope of life, but you know come on. At some point you should want your publication not to look stupid. Jeez. Can someone find out if Craig James votes in this poll?

Welcome to BGP HitSpuad.

What is not acceptable? 1-6 I was serious about, but the tie for number 7 I was joking. But, Greenup Co's freshman team is very good and undefeated with, I believe, only two offensive touchdowns scored against them. And Rose Hill's Junior High team is very good as well, I don't know their record, but they are very good.

I would say Ram forgot Ashland. He is a Ashland apologist :fire: so I find him leaving them off a bit shocking! LOL!

Mine would be:

1. Johnson Central

2. Russell

3. Raceland

4. Fairview

5. Ashland

6. West Carter

7. East Carter

You could make a solid case to flip West and Ashland based on records, but Ashland's schedule gives them the slight nod. I put Fairview @ 4 based on their record. Ashland can talk about Class "A" teams playing easy schedules or whatever, but they lost to two Class A teams already this year. So I'm not buying that argument...yet. :thumb:

So.................is it the "Super 7" , the "So-So 7" or the Pretty Good 7" ?? :confused::D

My List:

1. Johnson Central

2. Russell

3. Raceland

4. West Carter

5. Ashland

6. Fairview

7. East carter

GC Freshmen and Rose Hill Jr. high also recieving votes.

Thanks, feels good to be back.

Super Seven includes Area "High School" varsity teams, not any middle school team or a freshmen team.

I agree, strength of schedule should play a part of the rankings. Ashland has played a strong schedule. But, results on the field has to be a factor also. Ashland has had trouble this year, every program has a down year occasionally. Ashland had a chance to win several games this year, and just could not do it. Just a down year. Ashland could have won the Raceland game, the Russell game, and the Pikeville game, but could not make the big plays. Ashland's schedule has been tough, but sometimes you have to win games that you could have lost.

Johnson Central is clearly the best team in North-Eastern Kentucky, they have played a strong schedule and won some games that most people thought they may loose. Wheelersburg and Louisville Central were big wins that Central could have lost and no one would have said much.

Russell is clearly second. Russell has only lost one game to a much larger school and have won games, that I am sure people with the program, would say they could have easily lost.

Raceland has a strong argument for third. Raceland has beaten several larger schools in Greenup Co and Ashland. They have been beaten by LCA, who would beat most of the schools in North-Eastern Kentucky, and East Carter who is a bigger school that simply out played Raceland.

Fairview is a better team then most people think and could easily be number four. Their schedule has been somewhat weak in the out of district portion, but has done well on the field and deserves to be acknowledged. Could they beat Ashland? Maybe, maybe not, I'm not sure.

East Carter and West Carter, have won some games that many people thought they would lose. East beat Raceland and deserved to win. West beat East in a game that not many people would have picked West to win.

Ashland, Boyd Co, Greenup Co, Lawrence Co, Rowan Co, Paintsville (weak early schedule, will have trouble in the remainer of the season), and Morgan Co are having trouble this year. Nothing against any of these programs, they are just going to have trouble putting games away.

Lewis Co, is down with low numbers, hats off the their players and coaches for doing what they can, but they are just not going to win. Nothing against them they can not compete.

:thumb::thumb::laugh: You may be and probably are correct HS08, I was just trying to give West some notice and props. I do think that Ashland is better than the Comets and that West, Fairview and East are all pretty much even and interchangeable ;).

By the way, welcome to BGP HitSquad08. :ylsuper:
