It's a shame tOSU could not get the deal with USC done this year. If they did this thread isn't even made. Instead, it looks like next year we go to Troy and the following they come to the shoe.

 

It's really pointless from an OSU fans perspective on rank. I know some of the locals have been ranked for the first time in a long time, but we are ranked every year. Rank to OSU is just a number usually 1-15 that we see on tv each week.

 

No wonder they are easy to hate with this kind of arrogance.

I heard a guy on the Sports Memo Radio Show on Sirius this afternoon say that at least 7 teams from the SEC would be undefeated right now if they played O$U's schedule. That pretty much sums it up for me.

I also think that the Michigan State game coming up this week could be a tough one. The Spartans imo are much improved and the difference is that now they are very well coached as that was their problem in the past few years.

Meat-Chicken is getting better and better each week and you would think the odds are in their favor to finally win one.

They just need to schedule ONE good OOC team. If they had a win over Texas this year, they wouldn't be questioned (as much).

 

Washington is a good OOC team. If your team lost all that Ohio State did what would you do? would you schedule a Texas or someone again? Tressel done what he should have and it has helped out. The defense keeps on getting better and now the offense if coming around.

What really saddens me is that I think Ohio State will go undefeated. I think the only team in the Big 10 that might beat them is Michigan. Penn State is decent, but its another one of those slow Big 10 teams, that Ohio State matches up great with. Wisconsin was overrated and now people know that. Illinois might be able to give OSU some problems. Michigan though I think will once again be able to score on that OSU defense, and well Michigan's defense is fine when playing teams who dont run the spread offense. So think the defense will do good against OSU. So I know UM is my only hope for seeing OSU lose a game this year IMO...

 

I know I definitely dont want to see OSU in the National Championship game, playing a team with speed like LSU and get smoked again...

You can always think of a team who can beat another. A million things can go wrong on any given night as it is. But you are correct, based upon other teams not doing their jobs and OSU doing theirs, they have went from #11-#1 fair in square. #1 has not been a fun spot to be in this year.

And that is right. I know I dont think many people are arguing that they shouldn't be #1 right now, because they should be. However what people are arguing, and I think have a good argument is saying, that they probably aren't actually the best team in the country...

Very true our underclassman defense from last year is not prepared to play in the spotlight again this year. They have shown no signs of improvement.

 

The young D actually did fine... the offense did not show up what-so-ever.

Leak had a lil over 200 yards passing. The 3 backs had 150 yards rushing which was too much. The D spent too much time on the field 3 quarters, offense had one 3rd down conversion.

 

Couple of field goals and Tebows 4th quarter sugar coated TD made it look bad.

 

Don't put any UL comparions in an OSU thread..... we will never nose dive that bad.

Ohio St. schedules OOC opponets 6 to 10 years in advance. When this year's game was scheduled, Washington was in the middle of a pretty good run.

 

This year and next are a bit unusual as far as scheduling goes, because the NCAA decided to permanately add the 12th game. Most teams had to scramble to find an opponent and the only place they could put that game was in the "off" week inside of conference play.

 

I can handle OSU playing one Ohio school each season, I think its good for the state of football. IMO. I am not happy with this years schedule, but as has been stated it is the hand the Bucks have been dealt and they are doing what they are supposed to do.

I have to disagree, I think the defense is much improved.

Last year's defense was not very good especially in the backfield. IMHO, I think the defense is much better, I will put their linebacking corps up against anybody's in the country.

 

Laurinitis covers so much ground (Better than A.J.) No disrespect to Hawk.

Marcus Freeman is finally healthy and beginning to show why he was so highly touted. And, Larry Grant has 3 sacks and 7.5 TFL.

 

Defense is pretty good, but we may have to wait till Illinois & Meat-Chicken to find out just how good.

Keep in mind schedules are made some 3-4 years out, so it has nothing to do with players going to the pros or what ever.
