I am just curious what everyone wants us to do..... ask they take us out of the top 25 cause we dont care about rankings. We don't need rankings. This is a top 5 progam all time that's our ranking.

 

We are now getting into the tuff part of our schedule and its gonna be a dog fight. I would be surprised if we won out.

tOSUs will be good enough by the end of the season that if they're still undefeated they'll deserve a shot at the title game.

But do we make the same argument for Hawaii if they go undefeated? They've played nobody, but they've "taken care of business." I'm sure there are a bunch of undefeated HS teams. Should they be in the title game?

They do if the system is set up and allows them to play their way in. But we are not talking high school.

That is exactly what I stated. If OSU runs the table they deserve to play for a title.

So, LSU schedule, or most teams in the SEC are as follows 250 out of 119. If possible. What you said does not make sense. Their are only 2 teams that are ranked.:flame:

Ohio State doesnt play a tough schedule. I don't know where their schedule ranks but I'd be willing to bet it isnt near the top.

 

With that being said, they have come out and beat the teams they have played. They havent lost a game yet. In my honest opinion their name alone is the reasoning behind the number 1 ranking.

Tony on PTI just said that a one loss SEC team would beat Ohio State and USF, and that the only decent team Ohio State has had to play was Washington.

 

He was complaining about Ohio State and USF moving up by beating sub par teams.

 

I don't disagree with the polls at all. Polls are based on numbers. 6-0 looks better than 5-1. I dont think Ohio State is the best team in the nation but they do deserve the number one ranking in the polls.

:thumb: I agree SA, I did not think so or predict that the Buckeyes would go unbeaten this season. The tough part of the schedule is ahead of the Buckeyes and they will be playing an imporoved MSU team this week, then go to Happy Valley to face Joe Pa and the boys, (OSU has lost 5 of the last 7 at Penn St.), Wisconsin can be dangerous and Illinois is really improved as well. These are not to mention a good Michigan team in Ann Arbor.

 

The rest of this season will be interesting to see how far that the Buckeyes have come. The Defense is as good as there is in the country, no question. Imo the lighter early schedule has helped the offense to come along very well.

 

Some people seem to want Ohio State and their fans to bow down and apologize for an early weak schedule.

I for one will not, the FACTS are that Ohio State has beaten these teams that they were supposed to beat!

I don't think that I need to point out again who has not beaten the weak teams on their own schedule.

Lets just mention maybe "Syracuse, Utah, Appy St. to name a couple?? :D" Typical effort of trying to divert the attention off from their own failures and put someone down for doing what was expected when they themselves failed.

 

I don't know if Ohio State will run the table and be in the NC game or not, maybe they won't.

I can however name a couple of the ones throwing jabs that will not be there either and have been out of the running for a while.

We know that. If your a coach and your team just lost a lot of talent to the NFL would you want to go out and schedule the best teams in the country? Tressel and Ohio State's schedule has worked out fine. They have beaten every team pretty easily and they are yet to play bad against a lower opponent and look what that has done for them. OSU is #1, it doesn't really matter what any of us say because we sure can't change that. We can just wait and see.

I'll agree that their schedule is not the strongest in the nation but the fact is that they have gone out each Saturday afternoon and taken care of business and not many teams in the country can say they have done that.

At this point the rankings mean nothing.There is plenty of season left and If OSU runs the table (and they are very capable of doing so) they deserve the chance to play in a National Championship game. We'll see in a few weeks if that opportunity comes knocking.

It's a shame tOSU could not get the deal with USC done this year. If they did this thread isn't even made. Instead, it looks like next year we go to Troy and the following they come to the shoe.

 

It's really pointless from an OSU fans perspective on rank. I know some of the locals have been ranked for the first time in a long time, but we are ranked every year. Rank to OSU is just a number usually 1-15 that we see on tv each week.

My teacher, who is a HUGE Ohio State fan, does not like that they are number one, being that all the number ones this season have lost.

Only if they can get their Carr started.
