All of the UK/UL haters... with there big time wins against big time programs, but yet the voters still won't put them ahead of tOSU.... huh? Well, I guess they don't believe in fluke one hit wonder teams.

I don't have a problem with where OSU is ranked now....I simply know that they are overrated in regards to actual skill in comparison to the national landscape. If things work like they should, then they will be exposed.

Frankly, there are no easy schedules in the major conferences these days. With scholarship restrictions plus various school restrictions in todays environment makes it a lot more competitive across the board. However, some schedules, and conferences are more difficult than others...

 

If you're an Ohio State fan you'll remember Woody Hayes saying that he would rather have a scholarship player sitting his bench rather than playing against him. Those were the days when scholarships were unlimited.. or something like that.

And Ohio State will have their chance again before any KY team does. At least we were there. You an all the other UL haters can hate on.. we will see how UL/tOSU does over the next 5 years and compare accordingly.

Texas was average last year, UC was hovering around average last year and Michigan was just as overrated as OSU last year.

This thread is ridiculous. I think the majority of the posters realize that OSU deserves their #1 ranking at this point because everyone else has lost, they haven't, and that's just the way the polls work. The OSU fans on here can't see that and keep coming up with completely ridiculous arguments and attacks towards other teams for no reason whatsoever. That is the only reason this thread has gone on so long. Nobody here was hating on OSU until the OSU fans couldn't take some obvious criticism. OSU has a completely cake schedule thus far and there is no denying it. Everybody knows that the defense is better than last year and the offense isn't quite as good but they will more than likely get exposed again if they play another top level team in their bowl game. Like I said, yes they deserve their ranking at the moment but they have proved nothing yet this year and only time will tell the rest of the story.

I am just curious what everyone wants us to do..... ask they take us out of the top 25 cause we dont care about rankings. We don't need rankings. This is a top 5 progam all time that's our ranking.

 

We are now getting into the tuff part of our schedule and its gonna be a dog fight. I would be surprised if we won out.

My two cents:

 

*I for one think that OSU is overrated, but by the way the polls work out, they are ranked #1 for now...Which means absolutely nothing at this point.

 

*OSU's defense is good, better than last years (Which was overrated). But they haven't really been tested by an offensive powerhouse.

 

*OSU's offense is shaky at best. They have a descent running game, they have great special teams, and they don't beat themselves. Their passing game is coming a long, but not at the rate I would have expected it to. Thier receivers are very good, Boeckman sometimes just underthrows it or makes poor decisions. They do keep the defense honest.

 

*Tressel is one of the best.

 

What will happen from here on out.....Who knows, but odds are they will loose at least one game and still play in a BCS bowl.

I'll agree that their schedule is not the strongest in the nation but the fact is that they have gone out each Saturday afternoon and taken care of business and not many teams in the country can say they have done that.

At this point the rankings mean nothing.There is plenty of season left and If OSU runs the table (and they are very capable of doing so) they deserve the chance to play in a National Championship game. We'll see in a few weeks if that opportunity comes knocking.

This argument always comes up, but your record is worthless without considering SOS.

 

tOSUs will be good enough by the end of the season that if they're still undefeated they'll deserve a shot at the title game.

 

But do we make the same argument for Hawaii if they go undefeated? They've played nobody, but they've "taken care of business." I'm sure there are a bunch of undefeated HS teams. Should they be in the title game?

Not a OSU fan, but they deserve No. 1 right now, because they are undefeated. We will see what happens the rest of the year.
