I know OSU fans are saying how they will start to play some tough teams. However yeah it is improvement from the teams they have been playing, but I definitely wouldn't call them tough games. I mean we talked about how most the teams in the SEC would be tougher games than some of the teams OSU still has to play. But I mean I think the top 5 or even 6 teams in the Big East would be tougher games than these teams OSU has to still play in the Big 10. So yeah these games do get tougher compared to what they have been playing, but we definitely wont get to still see anything that really will show us if OSU really is the "best" team in the nation. I mean I think the toughest game they will have is Michigan, who lost to a 2A school...So sadly I dont think we will get to see how good OSU is until the the bowl games, which might not be a good thing...

Yea, whatever it takes to rationalize that schedule. Play some ball in the south. OSU has shown a great performance on the road this year... too bad that road was not I-75 South, (I-71 from Columbus). Once again, get on mapquest and find a school in the SEC to play.

 

Ohio State has a lot of teams who want to play then. They have a tentative schedule set all the way up to 2017 already with major non-con opponents. Top 1-25 team each year scheduled.

 

Also, have a tentative deal with UC in 2012-13 the same year we play CAL then Vtech.

 

I know for a fact coach Tressell wants to get a deal done with UF and coach Meyer. I think they sign a two year deal sometime after 2013.

UK in 08 plays Temple/Akron non conference.. and of course Louisville.

 

We go to Southern California. Who knows big 10 could have 2-3 top 10 teams as well. But we have marquee teams lined up the next 10 years regardless of how good our conference is, which of course, nobody knows. Depending on how well our conference does and with our non conference game we could lose 2-3 games a year if we don't bring it.

Outside of U of L, which is their rivalry game, they played EKU, Kent State and FAU. Not too tough there either. Temple? How many games have they won in the last 5 years?? They were 0-11 in 2005, and 1-11 last year.

I love OSU playing all the local OH college teams..... real nice way to advertise our program/system to hands down some of the best HS talent in the country.

 

OSU's blue moon break ends soon... like I said signed a 2 year deal with USC starting next year, then Miami, FL,.... Cal, Oklahoma, Vtech.. all over the next 10 years.

 

I disagree with your Sports... I dislike OSU playing the OH schools, it shouldn't take that to advertise the best program in the country. I believe that Ohio HS has some of the best talent, but probably behind Texas and Florida. Schedule some of those schools from those states. (and I know we just finished with TX.

 

Now, with that said, I believe Tressell coming from small school likes to give them money because he knows first hand that the big bucks really helps the MAC schools compete.

I have no problem with OSU's schedule at all. They are deserving of the #1 spot and if they go udefeated, they belong in the NC game. Pretty simple, I don't understand all the whining. Maybe jealousy??

UK plays a pretty tough conference schedule every year. Year in and year out they have to play 4 to 6 top 25 teams (it's not worth listing them, it changes every week), so the fact that a team of UK's caliber needs to schedule a Kent State makes a lot of sense. They have not been a SEC powerhouse and need to recover (consider this year... SC, LSU, FLA back to back to back, then throw in UL, ARK, UT and UGA). So we're sitting here in SEC country saying what's up with OSU's schedule???? Furthermore, IMO Ohio State and UK schedules shouldn't even be compared. Ohio State is and has been a great program and they should be playing a real schedule. I do't know what the delay is, but why is it such a sense of urgency (or at least 7 to 10 years form now) to start beefing up the schedule?

I think to get some respect. If I were Czar or the NCAA football, OSU would have to travel south of the Ohio River at least 2X per year... even if it were to play a Vandy, Ole Miss, MSU or UK.

UK's is higher of course, every single SEC team's is higher. But who did UK play non confrence other than U of L ( which is their rivalry game ) ? Kent State?? EKU?? FAU??.

What is so funny about that?? The last time Kentucky played a Big 10 team was the 98 Outback bowl right?? Who won that game? Penn State. Ohio State is going into the Pac 10 and ACC here in the upcoming years..

Wish they had like a BIG 10 VS SEC Tourny for Football..we could find out whos better! Both Leagues are good..SEC is a little better.

Of course they do. I don't know why there are even other confrence's man, the SEC should be the only one in the nation. Michigan did lose to App. State but they are still a very good team. Big 10 teams would have trouble in the SEC and SEC teams would have trouble in the Big 10. Not every SEC team but most of them.
