I'm glad we won. The defense still bothers the heck out of me.

Sorry about yourl uck GT....we in Big Blue Nation know how much that first loss hurts. Especially when we are not used to winning so many before it happens.

I was talking with a buddy of mine, how much Louisville will indeed miss Brian next year. He sometimes makes plays look "ho-hum", because we are used to seeing near perfection. Tonight he wowed me, at least 4 times, with plays that he makes. He is a winner, I am glad to have seen him play, and more proud that I know how great a person he really is.

Not a big surprise. I think UL is simply the better team in this close matchup.

I hope it doesn't dampen the enthusiasm at Nippert.

And the playcalling. Need 4 yards? Throw for 3. Need 6? Throw for 4. etc, etc, etc. Drives me nuts. I think Kragthorpe's offensive coordinator graduated from the Lloyd Carr School of Offensive Philosophy.

I would have to think that's more on the receivers not running the routes right. I have to belive they're taught to run the routes beyond the yard to gain markers.

^ I hate to throw Harry under the bus, but on that 3rd and 6 he hitched a yard too early...thank God Brian got it.

Keep giving Brian chances to beat you and he will. Tough loss but not one that surprises me much. What did take me off guard is UL dominating the line on both sides of the ball. As I told RP earlier in the week, if UC can't get pressure up the middle it was likely that UL pulled the upset. Oh well...

GT and I talked at lenght about the "up front" pressure. He told me how quick that defense was, and I was skeptical, but no more. They are very quick. All in all UC played sloppy and Brian played brilliant. If those two things happen in a game, I'll take U of L's chances.

Two things that I did notice tonight:

1 - Louisville lessened the amount of times they played SOFT coverage, they still got burned on those 12 yards cushions a couple of times, I long for them to disappear all together.

2 - The D-Line seemed to go more into last year's mode, in that they were shooting gaps, instead of punching and holding.

The two red zone fumbles and Huber shanking two punts told me most of what I needed to know about how this one was going to play out. UC just didn't have it tonight, and UL took advantage...

How and when did the Keg of Nails come into play?

I picked UL in the upset and they didn't disappoint! What a HUGE win for the Cards! GREAT to see BOTH instate teams pull of an upset on the same day!

Don't get me wrong...you want to see a nasty stat?

U of L - 22 / 194

UC - 22 / 166

The above is not carries and yars rushing, etc....it is how many penalties, and the yardage that was accrued. HORRIBLE.

I'm exhausted, and don't remember the year but I believe it was in the 50's and it was a traveling trophy between the UC and UL chapters of a fraternity. I'll get the full details tomorrow...

:thumb: U.L. is one of the worst coached teams in all of college football, they (U.L. coaches) are terrible. JMO
