As far as the game Dixie's D needs to step up, and pitch a shut out and build some confidence, going into the post season

Easy, bro. I was just trying to get the guy to clarify a statement that , on the face of it, would not be very kind. Bashing kids is unacceptable and I'm guessing the poster didn't want it to come across as it did.

While you may be right, I'd be surprised if the margin of victory by Dixie is that large. Scott will run a ball control offense and use Forrester to pound the football. Highlands had pretty good success running the football against Dixie. Scott's running game isn't on par with Highlands, but its not too shabby. If Scott can consistently move the chains and have long drives, thus keeping Dixie's offense off the field, I think it will be a closer game than 21. But I still expect Dixie to win. With Scott playing their best ball in years and Dixie being somewhat in a state of disarray this year, I expect a relatively close game if Scott can avoid turnovers. Do the Dixie fans expect Dixie to pass the ball a lot (which was supposed to be their strength this year) or move to the running game? Me, I expect them to pass the ball a lot (which might push some Dixie fans off the bridge). I think Tom knows that for Dixie to have a chance of beating Highlands if a future match up occurs, their only hope is to pass the ball, and Dixie needs every opportunity to get their passing game straightened out. Should be a fun game and good luck to both teams. By the way, if Scott doesn't double team Detmer on every play, they are crazy. He's a dang fine receiver.

I have to agree. Scott has seen increasing success in running the ball this year, which has allowed them to pull out a couple wins and stay within reach of their opponents when trailing by keeping the other 'O' off the field. As for Dixe (bold). Yes, you need to work out the kinks in those part of your game, BUT NOT in a district matchup. The only goal when entering a district game is TO WIN. If you are having alot of success running the ball ,moving the chains and scoring you stay with it. Now, Dixie finds themselves in a bit if a spot this week. Scott has gotten better as the season has gone along. Dixie seems to have gotten a bit stagnant. If they truly are anticipating a matchup with Highlands in the playoffs, they better win Friday. If they don't, they better pray for the other Colonels to lose.

Also, if Dixie looses this one it would be the upset of the decade. With that said it is still highly possible the way we have been playing. Combine that with a few of the posts I've seen on here and I've gotta tell you, this matchup bothers me more than a little bit. We're riding a little low in the water right now if you know what I mean.

Dixie as good as they played at the beginning of the season have struggled as of late so I seriously doubt that they will win by that much.

 

As some others have pointed out, Scott runs a ball control offense with their running game so they will be trying as much as possible to keep the opposing team's "O" on the sidelines.
