September 24, 200719 yr Here's the article that was written about a qb at OK State. I'm OK with a writer saying that a kid should be replaced because he's not getting the job done or because Plan B is better. However, I'm with the coach on this one. The lady crossed the with taking shots at him and even bringing his mom into it. I say "hats off" to the coach. Article: http://newsok.com/article/3131543}/ Here's the video of the coach's heated response(although it was well thought out and, aimed directly at the female writer with some pointed shots).
September 24, 200719 yr Wow! You think the writer felt a little heat. The person who wrote the article is an embarrasment to her profession and deserved what she got.
September 24, 200719 yr I applaud the coach and what he did...and he did it in about a classy way that could have handled it...he did not call out names, but did hold up the paper so that people could see whose it was and figure it out on their own... After hearing his conference and putting that person in his/her place...I would send my son to play for him if he had the chance
September 25, 200719 yr I wish the video would have panned over to her. I would love to have seen the look on her face.
September 25, 200719 yr Love it that people were clapping as he walked off the podium... Something that stands out to me: "He does things the right way and has a bad day on the field and you want to tear him down? Other guys do it the wrong way but are good football players and you write great things about them!"
September 25, 200719 yr I wish the video would have panned over to her. I would love to have seen the look on her face. I agree! Some media members are very good and then some are....................well, like this lady. Kudos to Coach Gundy for letting her have it and not letting it go by.
September 25, 200719 yr That woman's article was embarrassing, and, not surprising, Dennis Dodd standing up for her is ridiculous. Her article was nothing but unsubstantiated cheap shots. Way below a solid journalist.
September 25, 200719 yr Author That woman's article was embarrassing, and, not surprising, Dennis Dodd standing up for her is ridiculous. Her article was nothing but unsubstantiated cheap shots. Way below a solid journalist. What amazes me is how the whole journalism society is taking shots at the coach. Veiled (poorly) shots about him being a momma's boy are uncalled for. She also seemed to base everything on rumors and hearsay.
September 25, 200719 yr This coach should be praised for his actions. No way should a "Student Athlete" be subjected to personal attacks. This lady should be reprimanded for her story, because it was NOT a sports story. She quoted him from an interview from another reporter earlier this year and not even pertaining to this article. Another that upsets me about is that whatever she saw between him and his mother was nothing to write about and why didn't she just go ask them any questions about it? Let's hope sports reporters take heed to this and report Sports and nothing else especially to "Student Athlete's" whether at High School or College level.
September 25, 200719 yr That was awesome and I love that guy. He made me feel bad for giving Lonas Seiber a hard time...for a second.

She also seemed to base everything on rumors and hearsay. Just saw a few articles about the coach bringing national attention to a matter that could've been handled behind closed doors. Um, the initial article wasn't 'behind closed doors'. Both moron's are getting an e-mail from me...
September 25, 200719 yr Wow, I literally just watched the video on youtube of this. And I totally agree with the OK coach. Although, it could have been done it a more mature fashon.
