OK State Coach Goes Off on Writer

Featured Replies

Wow, I literally just watched the video on youtube of this. And I totally agree with the OK coach. Although, it could have been done it a more mature fashon.

Mature fashion? He did it the way it should have been done. I would have been harder on the reporter and editor.

He did EXACTLY what he aimed to do, took the focus off of his player and put it on him...

I'd let my kid play for him...

I bet there are some mothers out there with hot shot football playing sons who now have moved OK ST up on their list.

That woman's article was embarrassing, and, not surprising, Dennis Dodd standing up for her is ridiculous. Her article was nothing but unsubstantiated cheap shots. Way below a solid journalist.

Wow I watched it twice today on Sportscenter, looked as if he had enough of the newspaper.

That link isn't working for some reason. Anybody got another link to the article? What paper was this written for?

I saw the coach's blow-up, and while I found it a bit over-the-top, I can't fault him for coming to the defense of his player.

Maybe the Daily Oklahoman but I think their link is through the one provided.

I believe this story has brought so much attention to the story that the server can't handle the requests. It took a long time for it to open.

That coach is AWESOME!!!!!! :thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb:

I applaud the coach.

I did hear on the radio today Colin Cowherd just blasting the coach and taking up for the reporter. I disagreed with him 100%. I do that from time to time with his remarks.

Everyone in the media is blasting him. It's funny how they say it should be taken care of behind closed doors while THEY are writing an article in a newspaper....

It is great when a coach steps up for his player's and takes full responsibility to attack him and not the young man. Kudo's to the coach. JD

Once I can actually get a chance to read the original article, as well as the link posted to the site about two hours ago where the writer defends the accuracy of her information, I'll have more comment about it.

I will say this: While you want your coach defending his players, at the same token let's not act like college athletes should somehow be immune from criticism. By the nature of their position as high-profile athletes, they are public figures, after all.

I read the article. If it's accurate, I have no problem with it. Judging from some of the readers' comments on the Oklahoman site, the columnist may have a pretty good reading on the situation.

Figure you to say this...:p:lol::lol::lol:
