Do you really believe they are EASILLY better the the group from Cincinnati that Trinity played?

Without question. Cinn. X is better at stopping the run but T will not put up the points or passing numbers on Lou. St.X. Write it down Lou. St.X has a better pass defense.Look at the numbers that Lex.Cath., Male, & Manual have been putting on everyone and look what they did against the St.X defense!

Lets check this out like they do on Sunday's...

Running game => Both teams emphasize the run. Maybe a bit more with X. T has an outstanding back in Phillips. With the way X's qb has been running of late, all things considered, this is pretty tight. Slight Edge => X

Passing Game => No question the Rocks have a distinct advantage here. Probably the biggest mismatch in all categories (second mismatch is specialty teams, more about this later). Advantage => T

Defense against the Run => Both have very good defenses and much can be said about each side. The T defensive line controlled the 10 minute game of 2006. The X defensive line is considerably quicker to the ball this season. they have done a pretty good job so far... Im calling it EVEN

Defense against the Pass => T has the big game experience against Cincy St. X and this shoud pay dividens against the Tigers. With the Tigers not passing that much, really a non factor for most of the game. The X defense against the pass has be ok, yet needs to step up another notch against the T passing game or this could turn into a track meet after the catch kinda game..... Slight Edge => T

Specialty Teams => X started the year showing improvment in this area yet has fallen apart last week on the punt team. Two snapps were high enough that the punter had to give an all out jump just to catch the ball. Another skipped to the punter and in the 2nd half, the ball went completly over the punters head.... Well I dont need to tell you what that means or will do for a teams chances of winning this game.... None of the X kick offs last week went into the endzone.... Advantage => T

Bottom Line = > I really think that X has a better team this year compared to last year, primarly on defensive speed. QB showings some improvment. Duece has had a very solid start yet needs to step to the plate in this big game. T has shown that it has reloaded as usual. Stein is working his way to all state status with his passing and yards. Phillips is a D1 tallent that only needs a crack of daylight. Trinity has to be the favorite, two time defending champ and winner of last years game in storming fashion. Its Trinity's to lose, they are the top dog till someone knocks em off. So far, after what I have seen this year, Not convinced the Tigers are ready to do so. Hope Im wrong.... GO Tigers...

Rocks 23

Tigers 17

Good job..........pretty fair analysis......well reasoned..............HOpe your right:D :D

Im kinda thinking the same.... This could be the biggest Trinity margin of victory in the series (all time)..... 21+....

Actually the kittens should be proud and honored to be on the same field as the Mighty Rocks. Who knows what the score would of been last year?

Of course, if it rains at Male with 6:00 minutes left against T in the playoffs, I am sure that everyone would say that since Male had the lead by 11, they should win the game!

X's run D has been outstanding this year. Through the first four games, they gave up 253 yards (63 yards/game), while Trinity gave up 578 yards in four games (145 yards/game). In fact, Trinity has given up more yards on the ground than they've gained. X rushed for 1,337 yards in their first four games. That's more yards on the ground than Trinity gained through the air!

X fans,

How would you rank your five opponents thus far?

I would rank Trinity's as follows:

1. Cincy X

2. BG

3. Eastern

4. Butler

If X has had tremendous success shutting down Trinity for the past 25 years with the spilt 6, why did they switch to the 4-3? I believe X ran the 4-3 in last year's game as well, correct? Has the personnel so drastically changed that it was not smart to run the split 6/or smart to run the 4-3? Coach Walsh is still the DC right?

That's even more impressive considering the 7 starters X had out for its first game, and the 5 it had out for its second. This may be one of X's best defensive teams since 2006. :scared:

Would it be an option to say that T's passing game may be better than the schools St. X has played?
