Highlands 44 Dixie 14

As mentioned earlier, the PA announcer was great... can we borrow him for our next home game?

I believe that's the b-ball coach Ken Chevalier.

Why does Spritzky catch so much crap from Highlands fans?

From the kypost article above:

"We just didn't compete in the second half," said Spritzky. "I guess they made some adjustments at halftime and were able to stifle us. I look at it as like we didn't compete. We didn't play and they did about whatever they wanted in the second half to us."

Tom has played Dale how many years now?? "I guess they made adjustments." It's Dale Mueller and Highlands, you know they are going to make adjustments to stop your offense. As a coach, you have to know this, and you have to adjust too. Dixie didn't, and it was obvious. For example, they tried the bubble screen to Brock a few times in the second half, and Highlands read it every, single time. As far as not competing, I would have to agree with the defensive side of the ball. Those guys just looked like they didn't care. However, offensively, they tried to compete, but when Highlands knew everything that was coming at them, it's really hard to get anything going.

As for the roughing the passer, I missed it too. I heard someone say the defender slapped Bricking on the head, but I don't know.

Have you watched him on the sidelines. It is a thing of beauty!!!!!!! I mean it is after almost every play. My brother has played golf with Tom a time or two and he has repeatedly said that it is hard to compete with Highlands talent pool. Nothing like hearing your commander surrendering ship before the battle has even started. That's who i want coaching my son's once in a lifetime experience. Making excuses!!!!!

I don't think telling someone that it's hard to compete with HHS talent is making excuses. It's a fact. Year in and year out HHS will have more talent than Dixie and most other schools in the region. It starts with the FTJFL and goes from there. I do agree about Tom's behavior, it's funny to watch him look like he is complaining every play...

Back to the game. The third quarter dominated by the Birds was obviously the key. HHS O-line just wore out the Dixie D-line. Then a couple of those D-line guys had to turn around and play O-line when Dixie had the ball. They had to be gassed. See you guys in the playoffs:thumb:

Then do something about it. He continues to lose fine young in districts athletes(sp) to Schools such as CCh,Beechwood and Highlands. My nephew for example, plays for Highlands and should be going to Dixie.

I agree that the o-line did a great job last night but i would have to say that Clay was the difference maker in that game last night.

Most definetly. :thumb:

The added weapon...HIS feet is like having a 12th man on the field. IMHO, I still feel like he feels a litlle less than total confidence in his passing. He should NOT feel this way...he has the learned fundimental skills and natural talent to be a great passer along with being a fine runner and team leader. I just think that he will hesitate once in a while when he should follow his instincts.

There is no 5 yard rule for hitting receivers in high school; that is only the NFL.

So when the ball is in the air you can still have your back to the QB and hit and grab a receiver? I didn't know that, thanks.

Collinsworth's one flagged play was an absolute joke!!!!! He never touched Detmer and he deflected the ball with his hand. But with the help from the nearby crybaby the flag fell out of the refs shorts along with some green.

He had his back to the ball and threw his hands up. That's face guarding.

Really these penalties had nothing to do with the outcome. Do you want to be penalized so often? No. Do you want to win the game? Yes. Goal achieved

I don't think that is the point. The point is the penalties were valid.

Nothing more to say now other than the fact that we got our buts kicked in the second half and watched helplessly as you achieved your goal. :D

No! No! No! Remember game didn't mean anything.:sssh: It's game 12 and btw the "GOAL" is #17!
