I think it is because the Varsity will be using the field in preparation of the "BIG" game Friday with Dixie. Did I say big, I meant to say "Meaningless"! According to some people! Sorry another thread. Seriously, the Varsity will using the field.

Have you been drinking some Hatoraid again!!!! Maybe they will be working on the new sound system. I heard last night the new system that goes in this coming week will rival Paul Brown Stadium's. I can't wait to hear it from my back porch!!!!!! I hope the Babybirds had a good week in practice and are able to bounce back from last week monumental upset!!!!

It may be because of the construction. Last night there were some unhappy folks because there was LARGE construction equipment left jutting out on to the field for Jr. Football night...

I'm not 100% sure though...

Don't those construction people know it's football season. They need to get their priorities staight at that school.:D

There was? I didn't see it and I was on the sideline next to the building. There were some orange plastic barrels holding up the orange construction plastic barrier fencing about 5 yards from the sidelines, but that was all I saw. Heck, if those relatively soft barrels and fencing is a danger, then hitting someone wearing hard plastic shoulder pads and helmets is a real danger.

I think the real reason for the move is that the varsity uses the field for practices Wed afternoons. If the frosh game is played on the normal Thursday, there's no problem with the game being at Highlands, but with the game now being on Wednesday (whose brilliant idea was that?), we just cannot accomodate it being at home.

In any event and whereever its played, I hope our frosh come out angry and ready to play.

From what I was told, there was stuff ON the playing field for the 3rd and 4th grade games. They played 50 yards at a time, or something like that. It may have been moved by the time the older kids played because a lot of people were worried about it. It was obviously second hand info so...

Thank God! It was nice to be able to hear the announcer last week. Unfortunately, they turned it down before the game started. :irked: I'm thinking one of those guys up by the speakers was getting blown off the press box by the sound waves.

Oh, and more good news: Sources say they'll soon be getting rid of the telephone poles holding the lights! At least the one by where I sit is supposed to go. The new lights are going to be attached to the building. Also heard that the current poles and lights may end up lighting Death Valley. This came from a reasonably good source. ;)

No matter the reason it's a darn shame the Frosh lose one of their 3 home games.

You may be right BF, but I'm somewhat involved in the lighting project and unless things have changed in the last week or so, the new lights are going on the existing poles. I'll find out and let you know.

Not sure about "all" of the lights; but I do know for sure that at least that one pole will be gone. Which I'm celebrating profusely! :ylsuper:

I agree these schedules are just crazy
