USF 26 Auburn 23 OT

Featured Replies

South Florida is a good team; what's going on at Auburn, they've looked terrible the last two weeks.

Will the Big East have 5 ranked teams next week?

I stopped reading half way through this, but I'll toss in my $0.02.

USF is good. They've shown that before. WVU/Rutgers/UofL better not fall asleep on them.

I still believe the SEC is the best conference in the country, but the Big East and Pac10 are showing improvement this year. Outside of the top 3 or 4 teams in the country, its looking wide open this year. At this point, here is my conference ranking:

SEC

Pac10

Big East

Big12

Big10

ACC

I would agree with that.

This just shows that some folks know what they're talking about when they talk up USF this year.

I see I missed the fun of a lot of discussion and spin, but IMO it boils down to this:

Neither team really deserved to win the game. Auburn turned the ball over 5 times in regulation and USF scored zero, count 'em, zero points off of those turnovers. They additionally missed a staggering 4 field goals attempted.

But in the end there is one indisputable fact: South Florida defeated a top 20 SEC team on the road.

Good win for USF.............but Auburn sure does not belong in the top 25 from what I have seen so far.

I had to go to work before the OT, so I know nothing after two minutes left in the game.

USF deserves the win, thats why they keep score. Sometimes you have to give the other team credit and they played well against a team with great tradition. Tradition only goes so far.

The Bulls need a kicker, speedy defense and a nice QB. I was pulling for the warbuzzards. I wanted them to be undefeated when we play them. Looks like they will lose some more.

Gametime, go ahead and be proud, but be careful it all goes around sometimes. You mentioned that they were a top 20 team, I think the polls shouldn't even come out until after four games. You can't get a real feel for teams. Any body see that Michigan lost?

Hated to see the SEC go down to a Big East team.

As I see it this is just a small chunk of what goes around coming back around to smack the $EC arrogance on this board in the face... :walk:

What a joke. USF left out of the AP Top 25...

Still the best conference ever, but others might be catching up.

An overtime win over a now unranked team and its a joke?

Why are they unranked?

A road win at a then ranked "mighty" SEC opponent. You guys turning on Auburn is CLASSIC...

Just so I'm clear. Part of the reason the SEC can claim superiority is because of the large quantity of ranked teams. Auburn loses and the story is they are overrated to begin with. UT falls and it was because the 5th best in the SEC was playing the #2 Pac 10. My head is spinning.

LSU is flat out nasty. No doubt about it. After that the SEC is no more amazing than the rest. Next...

This was a great game to watch. One that Auburn could have won if they didn't turn it over so many times.

Congrats to USF.
