USF 26 Auburn 23 OT

Featured Replies

^^^Everyone on earth knows the SEC is the best conference except Big East fans, who are newcomers to NCAA football...compete with the SEC week in and week out and you will figure it out...

But no, the Big East will only play a couple games a year against the SEC, and set a bunch of mattresses on fire when they win one every now and then...

USF over Auburn doesn't mean a lot for those who follow football every week...they beat UL and WVU the past couple years and it wasn't a big deal...when they beat a UF or LSU or anyone else at the top of the SEC I will be impressed...but it won't happen...

Who here has said that SEC ins't the best conference? It was a HUGE deal when USF pulled the upsets because it proved that they were legit and that the Big East isn't just a two team conference. We all know that USF can't beat LSU or UF right now but I don't see any middle of the pack SEC teams beating UofL or WVU so that argument really doesn't mean anything.

Disrespect to the new Big East is my point. USF is a D1A baby and they just left Auburn with a win after playing like crap. Not a tough point to grasp...

That's fine with me... It's true... Auburn gave this game away. You could go 10 pages arguing the point and not change any minds.

The spin is a freaking riot.

Auburn lost at home to a USF them that was AWFUL tonight.

Thanks for the entertainment...

Or USF beat an Auburn team that was horrible and will not be a factor...

the fact that Auburn was only favored by 7 at home tells you Las Vegas doesn't think Auburn is very good...

But go ahead and throw your mattress out in the street and light it...:D:p

UofL fans aren't hanging their hats on anything, the BCS told us to play the ACC champions, we did and we beat them. It's pretty simple. If the conference the championship team is in matters let's take a look at it since SEC homers say they are the best conference year in and year out. How about the champions since I've been alive (1986): 4 and 1 split in 20 years. Not too strong to me...

Umm that really dont say to much...If the SEC is one of the best conferences as a whole year after year like they are many times, then its going to be hard for many teams to make it to the Championship game, because they will lose 1 or 2 during the season. If their was a playoff though as say 8 teams, then I think there might be more teams who won the National Title than just 4....

However for this game as I said before congrats to South Florida, they came to Auburn and won. We need to give credit where credit is due people...

OK...

Is there nothing more to take from these games than "My conference isn't as bad as you think it is and this proves it"? It seems to me that there can be some better conversation about these games than this.

Can you really miss this heat? You are smarter than that,

USF was the afterthought in the ACC raid "fix". They just won AT Auburn. It's HUGE!

The fact USF was awful and still won is icing on the cake for the BEast football movement...

I know better.. ;)

I know it doesn't and I agree with you, I was merely showing brjb that it doesn't matter what conference the championship team comes from.

It's a great win for USF... But to me it proves more about USF than it does the Big East. I suppose my thought process is different than that of other posters on this site, but when I see a team pull off a big upset I don't think to myself "That validates their conference!" I'm just more excited for the team.... I'm not a SEC homer, just a Kentucky fan... And I was pulling fur USF in this game 100%. I would just like to see more time spent actually talking about games, and it seems like we're getting away from that and re-hashing the same old arguments in every thread.

Fair enough.

But that's life on a message board as wide open as this one. USF over Auburn on the road is going to be HUGE based on the SEC/BEast slant here.

If USF plays well over their head for this win, the point has very little validity.

As it stands, there is a TON of BEast/SEC ammo on the table...

Now you are just out of control...

Your point is taken... But away from all this, there was a great (and also terrible) game played that is getting very little attention other than the outcome... Some big plays for both teams, and TONS of missed opportunities.

Ditto..

We probably agree on who the most impressive team in the Big East was this week...

Cincy gets my vote.

Here is the bottom line. Only a very good team goes to Auburn, plays like crap and walks away with a victory.

If the SEC is put on the pedestal we always see here, there is NO WAY USF wins this game.

USF won and the SEC homers have to take the heat. You aren't in that group, but you are now in the crossfire...
