I don't expect to a program this young to garner praise from the "experts". It's kind of an insult to them that this bunch of Florida grown talent, made up of UF, FSU, Miami, and, to a lesser extent, Louisville rejects, could possibly be knocking off traditional powers. USF reminds me of the University of Miami in the late 70's and early 80's.

 

I like just missing the top 25. In fact, I hope the "powers that be" keep them out for a few more weeks. It's easier to torpedo the enemy, if you stay under the radar.

:thumb: I don't recall anyone saying that the SEC is tougher than ever this year but if they did I couldn't disagree more. I think the SEC is having a really down year this year but at the moment I still think they're the best which says a lot imo. This should be a very interesting year for college football and I think it's very possible for another conference to emerge as the best by the end of the season.

I remember reading it in an article that somehow linked in a post...I didn't see it then. It's got the potential to get really tough in the future with Spurrier getting things going at South Carolina, Saban at 'Bama and Meyer at UF...the thing is, with those teams rising, I expect Tennessee to continue it's slide until they replace Fulmer and I expect LSU to drop once Les Miles gets himself "established" there...I agree, I think the SEC is the toughest still and that's impressive for a down year.

 

But, as an SEC fan, I get tired of the constant putting down of the Big East and then making excuses when the SEC loses head-to-head to the Big East. Why can't people just admit that the Big East is a legit BCS conference...it's good...it's tough...it's deeper than people want to believe or admit...and it's very, very deserving of it's automatic bid status.

Yeah I realized something was lost this year at Louisville, when some of our fans booed the team at half time for our defense, but we were still in total command and leading the game. When I was a student we would be cheering them for leading going in to the half. And while the defense was playing horribly it was a clear sign that many of our fans had either not been around for the tough years, or had gotten spoiled by our last few years of ranked success and bowl games.

Completely disagree. The last thing Louisville fans need to do is become complacent. If we were complacient with Cooper where would we be today??? They deserved to get booed last Thursday, and if Kragthorp continues to allow such a comedy act out of what we know are good players, I will personally boo him out of a job.
