I'm pulling for Lawrence Co. in the upset. I think Lawrence will come out fired up and surprise Belfrey.

This game is at CAM.

The winner of this game will win the LOS, simple as that. I think Belfry has more athletes and they are pretty strong up front. Pirates pitch a shutout

LC always plays Belfry well. We actually played them very well and almost won on the new field year before last. I think that with the momentum from the Coal Grove game, this team will be fired up and will give the Pirates all they can handle. The forth quarter comeback gave these boys a lot of confidence in themselves and what they can accomplish if they don't give up. Would love to see a big following from LC to support the Dawgs. The fans were a big part of the game Friday. Look for an upset. :sssh:

I may be surprised...but I simply can't see LC getting enough going to threaten the Pirates. Historically, this has been a good game...but not this year.

I have a hard time imagining LC being as good as Corbin, who besides the shutout was a pretty solid team. This Belfry defense is pretty solid, especially against the run. I think the Pirates will be too much for the Dawgs this time around.

Belfry is a tough team to get untracked against.

I continue to hear about the "momentum from the Coal grove game"..let's keep in mind LC still lost, to a below average Ohio school... Belfry on the other hand dominated (double the yardage, held Corbin to negative rushing yards) a ranked 2A school with 9 starters returnign on both sides of the ball. If momentum is on anyone's side, wouldn't it be Belfry?

LC always fields a tough team who plays Belfry well, this coupled with the fact that Belfry will still be substituting liberally looking for the right lineup, and LC does have a chance in this game.

But, IMO there is no way that LC's offense is better than Corbin's, and the game is being played at CAM.

I know I shouldn't say this, but I think it may be a while before anyone scores on Belfry, at least the starters.

Sorry coaches, I'm sure that was the kiss of death. :creepy:

I take it the Pirates won't be challenged until the Pikeville game?

It's high school football and we all know that anything can happen.

This defense is very good, that's all I'm saying.

Where does everyone get that Coal Grove is a below average team in Ohio? Yes they have some bad years but this year they have 16 starters back from a team that went 6-4 and they have a very good coach in Dave Lucas who coached Coal Grove back in the 80's when they were good, then he left for Buffalo(Wayne), WV and won a state title there in Class AA in the 90's.

LC may or may not win but they will not be blown out by Belfry. This game will be no different than any other LC/Belfry game "A tough hard fought game".

I cannot go against my Dawgs:

After the LC loss I came straight home and watched Belfry on WYMT against Corbin. Belfrys defense is extremely quick as usual but Corbin didnt overall impress me. Ranked too high in the preseason Top 10.

Corbin was fine, I mean they returned nine starters on both sides of the ball. Belfry's defense was just to fast for Corbin. The Redhounds had a nice team and everybody knows that, they step up and hit you and they have a great line.

Guess that is one of the differences of seeing it on tv and not in person.
