August 9, 200719 yr Since its origins are Greek, maybe we should call it, "kreas saltza". That's "meat sauce" in Greek. :lol: I'll take that over hot dog sauce anyday. For some reason, I can't stand the label/name/whatever "hot dog sauce". I know it's on some botulism cans, but it just doesn't sound right to me.

Fries are awesome too! Other good choicesd are the BBQ, the foot longs (you might even like their chili), and the fish sandwichs. I reccomend a twisty cone chaser if you don't want to do the shake. You can sit at the picnic tables under the trees and harrass the neighbors' yapping dogs, or watch the trains go by. If you're real lucky you'll be there when the Silver Grove fire siren goes off.

August 10, 200719 yr Forget the chili dogs - go to Montgomery Inn and get some great ribs. They serve Greater's Ice Cream there so you don't have to go anywhere else... but the choices are limited - I recommend the choc. chip - and have a contest to see who gets the biggest chip. They often cover the entire spoon. I haven't been there in a while, but the Gatehouse Tavern (connected to the Drawbridge Inn off the Crescent Springs exit) has a great Prime Rib and a huge salad bar. The Oriental Wok (also off the Crescent Springs exit) has a great Sunday buffet - and there is a Greater's Ice Cream next door. For the best view make reservations at the restaurant at the top of the Quality Inn - it has a revolving floor so as you eat you spin slowly around seeing the skyline from every angle. For smaller meals - LaRosa's Pizza or a 3-way and a Chili Dog from any Gold Star will suffice.

They had all the standards - Egg Drop Soup, Sweet and Sour Soup, Egg Rolls, Spring Rolls, Crab Won Tons, Sweet and Sour Pork, Chicken, and Shrimp, General Tso's Chicken, Lo Mein, Peanut Chicken, Beef and Vegetables in brown sauce, Garden Salad, etc. I like it because they keep it fresh - nothing annoys me more than when the general tso's is soggy instead of the pan fried crisp feel.
