July 23, 200719 yr Great show. Don't know if I can pick a favorite as it depends on which ones come to mind first. I read somewhere that Ernest T actually directed many of the shows. Anyone else heard this?
July 23, 200719 yr Yes he did. Richard Crenna also directed an episode or two before directing Rambo to be a killer in the Army.
July 23, 200719 yr I always liked The Darlings. Maybe my favorite episode of all time was when Ernest T. wanted to marry Charlene Darling and they tricked him by disguising Barney as the bride. A classic!

July 23, 200719 yr Howard Morris directed a bunch of them. He was also the TV repairman who came to the lake to tell Helen about her TV. Watusi, yeah the marriage was real "bad news".

Andy lost a good one there.
July 23, 200719 yr I didn't realize until recently that the same guy who created Saved By the Bell wrote two episodes of the Andy Griffith Show.

July 23, 200719 yr It's got my vote as the best show ever. I grew up watching Andy Griffith re-runs and I still love to watch it...it seems like it isn't nearly as easy to catch as it used to be. I can remember when all we got was like 6 or 7 channels, and I could catch Andy Griffith re-runs on 3 of the channels at different times every day. I loved it. I hope to get them on DVD at some point... Easily the best show ever though...I have no doubt.
