If the coach shouldn't base his decision on the performance during the tryout, what should it be based on?

July 17, 200719 yr I would let Weaver or Leunen go. Leunen is a big, so that choice is out the window. Kyle Weaver is a 6'5" guard/forward who does everything but score better than Lofton. He can also play 3 different positions. I'll take Weaver.

July 22, 200719 yr Lofton is not a PG. See post #22. They said Neitzel is a very good pg, not Lofton.

July 22, 200719 yr He's unquestionably the best clutch shooter in the nation. I know if I had any kinda team I would want that kinda player on it. Hopefully they won't need a buzzer 3 at any time.

They have three other point guards, which would seem to be too many.....but one of the PG's will probably not make the final 12. I may be biased, but after seeing what Lofton is capable of doing in big games, he would have made the team if I were picking.

So why do players try out for the NBA? Not everybody gets drafted by someone knowing who they are. Sometimes you have to prove yourself a little more. I think Chris is a great player but evidently he didn't make a good showing when it was needed and someone else did. Chis will get his turn another day.
