I would like to see some career stats on both as well teams.

So you think Redick, who had a dominate teammate in Sheldon Williams along with other really good talent, is better than Lofton, who has far less talent around him and still produces is better? WOW!

Yes, I do, as do many others.

Well I'll take the media and the stats.

Yeah, because the media sees players play more than the coaches.... I think even you know that stats aren't everything. The media votes off stats, the coaches see the other things.

Same conference. Same division. Nope, that's not a good measuring stick. Guess who could've poss. been the deciding vote for the coaches? Tubby

Or anybody else who voted for Byars... Moot point...

Other things being what? Maybe leading your team while recovering from an ankle injury or the excellent sportsmansip and devotion to the game that some players never seem to be credited with, not only on the national level but locally as well. But your right, no coaches commitee would find these attributes worthy of an award seeing that stats aren't everything.

I cant tell you exactly what they saw... Im not a coach. But apparently, the coaches felt Byars had the better season.

One was by the Coaches of the SEC (Byars). One was by the Associated Press (Lofton).

2 different player of the year awards were given.
