Plus, I don't know necessarily that he'd roll up the fines some of you think. A big source of his fines come when he comes on the court or because of his activities from his courtside seat. Baseball owners, as a general rule, just aren't that visible, not even Steinbrenner. Even if he was in the front row, fans are still a lot further from the action than hoops.

July 14, 200719 yr Didn't he try to buy the Pirates a few years back? I hadn't heard the story or just brushed it off as rumor. But I found this article from the Pittsburgh paper in 2005. CHICAGO -- Billionaire and Mt. Lebanon native Mark Cuban said yesterday he would be interested in investigating buying the Pirates if they became available. The flamboyant owner of the Dallas Mavericks of the NBA also said he would be amenable to joining the Pirates' current ownership group -- if asked -- if there were a risk of the baseball team leaving Pittsburgh. http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/05197/538914.stm
