How many teams start 3 left handed outfielders?

Does that matter?

I think it does if they can't hit left handed pitching.

Oh, he didn't say anything about hitting. I thought he meant defensively...

I know, I know...I'm a moron. Dunn's not a left handed thrower...maybe he should be with that squirt gun...

Never understood how someone recruited to be a QB at Texas could have such a week arm.

Honestly, one has nothing to do with the other. Lorenzen had an average baseball arm because his hands were too large. I always compare it to throwing a golf ball. I can throw a baseball much harder and further than a golf ball. Dunn may have the same problem since he's huge too...

Thanks for the edufication.

I don't think those two are comparable at all.

We've determined that Sherlock...

Still don't think he can for a full season for a team that wants to win. I've said it on BGP 1,383 times and I'll say it again: the outfield in Cincy in 2009 will be Dunn / Hamilton / Bruce.

Given Hamilton's body situation (messed up), having a solid 4th OF is a MUST...and Norris appears to be able to do that.

Second point, I won't (and neither will the Reds, IMHO).

Do you subscribe to the theory that AGonz' defense has been bad simply because of his trying situation?

If that is true, as someone hs raised the question, why not at the plate too?

You know what they say about guys with big hands, right?

Big gloves.

Cleveland and St. Louis are two I can think of off the top of my head.

Ok, thanks I didn't think it was commom. Encarnacion started before his injury in St. Louis though.

I think it does if they can't hit left handed pitching.

That's where I was going. I'm guessing Hopper or Freel would be the 4th Outfielder that year and they would start against most lefties. I'm just wondering how the three lefties and Votto would fare against left handed pitching.

No. He was booting routine balls before he ever went on a leave.

So this year is simply an aberration?
