The problem the Braves made was then not getting the next guy (or, frankly, the one after that). You'd rather allow one to stroll in than to lay a 3-2 fastball down the lane, I would think. Bully showed some heart last night. Since July 1, the Reds are now 4 games over .500.

What bothered me the most is that he asked some questions about the '08 season and Krivsky kept saying that they're getting too far ahead of themselves. Shirley Wayne's still not playing for the '07 season... Things like, "Will Freel play winter ball?" and "Where can we expect Keppinger to play next year?" He's still in the '07 season when the rest of the organization is looking at '08...

Here is my reaction and what pulling out my calculator found.. % of times first batter is retired Coutlangus 65% Weathers 65% Coffey 60% Stanton 60% Burton 56% Bray 33% % of inherited runners allowed to score Burton 19% Coutlangus 22% Weathers 30% Coffey 46% If I can do that math...why can't Wayne? Or is he just lying to us? Also.....per listener Doug....Jon C. did not walk a batter in his last 5 appearances before his demotion. By my count that was 16 batters
August 22, 200719 yr I do not like these Reds' announcers at all. Saying the Braves wouldn't be dangerous if they made the playoffs is ridiculous. Smoltz, Hudson, Carlyle is a pretty solid playoff roster.
