August 21, 200719 yr Kepp is now at .382. He has to get 400 ABs next season. I'm with you. I'm not sure where they play him unless he plays 2B and BP moves to SS, but until he proves he's not going to hit he has to play.
August 21, 200719 yr Kepp is now at .382. He has to get 400 ABs next season. Sounds great...how? SS? No. 3B? No. Right-handed side of 1B platoon? Maybe, but that won't get you 400 AB's. 5th outfielder? Perhaps. He is getting a lot of doinks and bloops to drop in right now, no question, but I continue to say there are reasons he hasn't stuck in the Bigs before.... .290 with limited speed, limited pop, and limited defensive skills is a tough guy to count on. However, I love the dude and he is clearly white-hot right now. It doesn't hurt that this is the kind of guy that Average Joe Cincinnati Fan will LOVE!!! :bunny: :creepy:
August 21, 200719 yr So Chuck James was scratched from his start tonight. Looks like another Jo-Jo Reyes vs. Livingston matchup.
August 21, 200719 yr Author Why? I don't mind Norris Hopper as a 4th outfielder. I don't think Joey Votto will ever be more than a Ben Broussard / Doug Mientcieziwz (sp?) (minus the slew of gold gloves) type, but might as well roll the dice (and you can play either Cantu or Keppy against southpaws). You add a couple of solid pieces to the bully. You trade Freel for anything. Works for me. :thumb: Sorry, mixed you up with another poster.

August 21, 200719 yr Teixeira homered twice for the second straight game on Monday, helping Atlanta to a 14-4 win in the series opener. Teixeira drove in six runs despite battling a 24-hour virus. "You know you can't do what you normally do because your body is slow, so you're more focused," said Teixeira, who threw up on the team flight to Cincinnati. "You're going to have nights like this." And the Reds still couldn't get him out!!
