August 21, 200719 yr I know everyone loves the O. But eventually they have to go after some quality pitching. I would have much rather seen a couple young pitchers in a trade. The Reds have position players coming out of their ears. It just goes to show that no one is giving up even lower level pitching.

August 21, 200719 yr Imo we can't complain a lot about the Conine deal, to get two promising minor league players for a guy that was gone after this season one way or another is about all we can ask or hope for. JMO

August 21, 200719 yr Seriously. You comfortable with the Reds pitching major and minor leagues? I'm comfortable with the number of quality young arms that are being stockpiled like never before. Bailey, Livingston, Cueto, Burton, Bray, McBeth, EZ, Coutlangus and a few guys that look very promising at the lower levels. The rebuild was going to take at best 5 years after what Bowden left us with. That was set back with the rash firing of O'Brien. He had no clue how to propose major league contracts but his eye for talent is very clear. With Wayne gone at the end of the year it's set back again. Round and round we go...
