Deters: Independence County

How many businesses are south of Independence? What the population from Independence south? If it's not many where will all other money come from to run the "new" county?

 

 

 

He said it would come from property taxes and the new insurance tax that will raise about $800k per year.

Think about the buildings Kenton County owns in this area. The courthouse, the library, a high school, middle school, 2 or 3 elementary schools. Then factor in that a vast lot of people south of Independence aren't exactly wealthy. The people who voted to put the jail in the new location were elected officials. The start up costs would be astronomical. I think it's a personal agenda. The road is expanding and the new library branch is what, 5 minutes from downtown Independence.

Hmmm could be, most people think of Independence as just the town area, but it would include, SK, Twenhoffel, Summiet View, Kenton Elementary, Whites Tower, & Beechgrove.

 

I suppose Piner would just be a feeder into the middle schools?

Ha they've got a petition, but the first part of it(placed in the family owned BP), addresses the jail.

 

My friend signed it and didn't even realize what it was for. It's a joke.

 

The next ones gonna say "Deter's for King of Independence".
