In April 1989, Gore was the victim of a near-fatal car accident while attending a Baltimore Orioles baseball game in Baltimore, Maryland. As a result of the accident, doctors were forced to remove approximately 60% of his spleen. He also sustained a concussion and fractures to a leg and a rib, as well as bruises to the lung, kidney, and pancreas. His father chose to stay near him during the recovery, bypassing a possible presidential run in 1992.^[1] This was discussed in his father's 2006 book, An Inconvenient Truth and in the 2006 documentary of the same name.

Gore sustained an ankle injury while playing lacrosse in 2000. In order to accompany him during his treatment, Tipper was forced to miss a campaign trip through Tennessee. Her daughter Karenna Gore Schiff replaced her during part of the bus trip, appearing at a rally in Nashville, while a latter portion of the trip was cancelled.^[2]

You are correct in ths cshs, My comments about the parenting ( or lack there of) may have had a lot to do with this kids (now man's) attitude and outlook on life and his idea of reality. If one grows up thinking in the "do anything you want , say you're sorry and it's o.k." theory then they usually can't handle adult life. All of the blame of this does fall on AGIII, no doubt. I was talking about the possible lack of dicipline in growing up.

 

I have seen this type of what I call "pampered pretty boys" all my life and they usually, not always have this type of attitude.

RK has nailed it. I've spend many, many years coaching and raising children and this type of thing happens to far to many of our young people regardless of their upbringing or social backgrounds. Many will disagree with me, but I know of no parenting technique that will guarantee that it nevers happens to one of your own and it is tragic.

 

Now, having said that and keeping withing the fairness guidelines, RK has the ugliest avatar I've ever seen on here. :fire: :lol:

I guess I'm one of the few who made some stupid mistakes in my life and haven't forgotten that just because you turn 18 (or 21), it doesn't mean you can't still be lost and needing help.

I did stupid things when I was 18/21 too. And deserved to be ridiculed for it. Just because you are young doesn't mean that it gives you free reign to do stupid things with no consequences.

 

What if while going 100 MPH in his green car and smoking weed he hits an oncoming car and kills a family. His actions regardless of his age could have had serious, serious consequences.

 

He is actually blessed that he was caught. Because down the road a mile might have been a minivan full of kids that he would have hit. You never know.

He isn't a kid anymore. It's time to grow up and face the consequences of his actions. To bad mom and dad didn't raise him well, now it's time for the tax payers to pay for him.:confused:

I'll agree with your first two sentences, Henry, but I've think we've all seen kids who were raised right do dumb things. As HHSdad said, some are just wired different.
