July 5, 200719 yr Author By the way, I saw pappy Gore on the news (Today Show) this morning and he was smiling, laughing like nothing had ever happened. If it were me I would be there for my son and personally be making sure that he got help and not talking and laughing on t.v.. Now, I know that these people live a different lifestyle and have completely different set of standards than we do and all but maybe that has been the problem all along. I said "kid" earlier when referring to Gores son but how old is this guy? He probably has grown up under the belief of "do anything you want, say you are sorry and all will be o.k." with no dicipline or guidance. I don't know JMO I refer to this as the Bill Clinton Theory.:thumb:
July 5, 200719 yr When all the laughing is over and everything that can be said about this young man's father and his father's former boss has been said, perhaps we can hope that he gets the help that he needs. There is nothing sadder than a young life messed up when there is so much help out there for them. Sorry... I'm all for a good joke but a kids life is never a joking matter to me. RK has nailed it. I've spend many, many years coaching and raising children and this type of thing happens to far to many of our young people regardless of their upbringing or social backgrounds. Many will disagree with me, but I know of no parenting technique that will guarantee that it nevers happens to one of your own and it is tragic. Now, having said that and keeping withing the fairness guidelines, RK has the ugliest avatar I've ever seen on here. :fire:

Sorry... I'm all for a good joke but a kids life is never a joking matter to me. RK - all well and good. However, I don't think anyone on BGP is going to have any influence on young Gore. I doubt anyone hopes the kid does not get help. With that said, I have zero problems with the jokes about a 24-year-old man who does not have a clue as to how life really works. We should be more concerned about the innocent folks on the highway with this guy. He gets very little sympathy from me. He's not 17. He's 24.
July 5, 200719 yr I think you guys are being to hard on young Al. After all, he was driving a Toyota Prius. I think the real story here is that he was able to get a Prius to do 100 mph.

Impressive but maybe just maybe he had a different engine in it :sssh: and driving it for show with the Prius name on the outside for the Green Global Warming old man.
July 5, 200719 yr Al Gore III was arrested on marijuana charges after police stopped his vehicle for speeding and driving with the headlights off. Montgomery Co. Maryland Police searched the vehicle and found a marijuana cigarette and a bag of marijuana. More of the story on http://www.cnn.com Just a little correction here. Yesterday's event took place in Los Angeles. The Maryland incident was in 2003. It's a good thing it didn't take place in Virginia.
July 5, 200719 yr How many of you have kids who have screwed up? I'm not talking little kids. I'm talking young adults? How quickly we forget how screwed up we can be even into our 20's and 30's...heck....some of us our whole lives. This is a young man who obviously needs help. I'm not willing to pin the blame on his parents, but it's obvious that he needs help.
July 5, 200719 yr Ms. Liberty I made referece to that in post #30 :thumb: . So, we are not blasting and making fun of a "kid".

July 5, 200719 yr Why pin the blame on the parents? Pin it on AGIII where it belongs. And still...he's a person who's young, and dumb. I can only assume that all of you have only perfect people in your life. Must be really nice.
