Was that 10th Region?

Tollesboro High is (OR WAS) in Western Lewis and has always been in the 10 th region since the 40's and Lewis Co was in the 16th and was in the 10th for a couple of years and went back to the 16th. Chris was the first I ever heard about a verbal commitment. Never did quite understand what it meant and how binding it is.

I mean, I don't want to sound like a Tubby basher by any means, but Billy G. seems to be a little more of a workhorse on the recruiting trail and he seems to have a better idea of the "big" picture.

Any incoming sophomore is going to represent a risk and Dakota still has some work to do, but if you feel you have to make a statement to shortstop Florida and Duke in your own backyard, Dakota has all the ingredients of the kind of kid you take a "risk" on, I think he has a much better shot of paying off than some of the other "early" verbals in the state

I agree fully, Tubby was a good defensive coach but never seemed to be this involved with his recruiting

Euton's decision will mean that many more people will want to attend Rose Hill games. Since Rose Hill is a very small private school, I would assume that money is always in short supply for the funding of the basketball program.

 

Therefore, I would urge the school to schedule as many home games as possible. Create big paydays for yourself rather than unjustly enriching the opposition.

I hear he is being compared to the likes of Danny Issel, one of the alltime UK greats. I never had a chance to watch him play but hear he was an unbelievable 6'9 player. Euton can nail the 3 ball which will make him that much more effective in college. Congrats on the offer and I hope he has 3 excellent years of basketball at Rose Hill.

Well, just the comparsion to Big Dan has me excited. I was in high school when Issel played for UK, and I must say he is my favorite all time Wildcat player. He was unreal, could nail the 16 to 18 footer with consistency, and could draw a foul from the defense under the basket with the best of them....and most times earned a 3 point play for his efforts. He went on to prove his worth in the NBA. So, to compare this kid to Big Dan is something to be excited about.

However, I have never seen him play, so I'll reserve my judgement of him for a much later date.

I think his parents spell about as well as I do.

A few observations about Dakota Euton:

 

1. He is indeed a hard worker who wants to improve all aspects of his game.

2 He already displays many talents on the court and he is a work in progress, who will continue to improve his game over the next three years.

3. He is a great three point shooter for his size and he can really get hot from beyond the arc.

4. He seldom misses a free throw and he draws plenty of fouls.

5. He is going to continue to grow in stature and strength and his physical skills have potential for nice improvement.

6. He is a quiet humble boy, who takes all this publicity in stride.

7. His Mom and Dad are both great people and parents, very supportive, but not overbearing. (They are also very knowledgeable about basketball.)

 

Last, but not least, I hope Coach Gillispie will continue to watch and consider Chad Jackson, the excellent guard who plays with Euton at Rose Hill. He is another terrific talent. I think he's in the same grade as Euton. I would love to see both of them playing for the UK Wildcats!

I have heard he is pretty reliable with his shot in closer to the basket.

We'll be using vegtable oil for fuel when that happens.

Euton is a very consistent outside shooter. He shot something like 45% from three point range last season.
