June 2, 200719 yr My comment is this. Over the past 10 seasons no player has been better over time IMO than Tim Duncan. Duncan's teams beat Shaq's teams from time to time. Duncan isn't as big and powerful as Shaq, but he simply gets the job done and wins. Who the better player is between the 2 over their careers is still up in the air IMO. I think Duncan is very close to even being a top 10 player in NBA history. June 2, 200719 yr Duncan or Malone who would you draft? Who's taller, faster, has rings? Who would win one on one? Who passes the ball better and who is better on the post? Seriously the only arguement Malone wins is "Who sets better screens?" Duncan wasn't/isn't great because of his supporting cast. Malone played with one of the best PG's to ever play. The reason Malone doesn't have any rings is because of a guy named Michael Jordan. Had he not been around, Malone would have had at least 2 rings to show for his success...

The sad thing was that he and Payton slowed that Laker team down alot and messed up their chemistry. And they ran into a defensive juggernaut and a coach who had Phil's # in the Pistons that year in the finals!
