I did make the attempt, vague though it was. My answer was that until I can find a way that nothing becomes something without Devine intervention, I can find no alternate explanation other than it was created.

The funny thing about your post is that I went through the 7th grade twice:jump: and yet I fully understand that evolution is not scientific. The "gaps" cannot be overlooked. Darwin couldn't explain them in the 1800's and I cannot find one ounce of irrefutable proof that we evolved from something else. You say there are vast amounts of proof that I've overlooked, please expound,,,enlighten me on where the proof lies.

I prefer to look at both as peripheral information that I can use to supliment my studies. I can try to understand both, consider the principles of both and ponder the application of both. But I would never consider blindly following either.

 

No, at the end of the day, it is my own responsibility to study The Word, apply it to my life and work out my own salvation based on an informed and in-depth study of the Bible and its teachings.

 

That is my principle for my life, and one that I will not force down anyone else's throat. I will understand if you take a different path and I'll listen to you if you want to explain it. I may learn something.

My statement was in regard to being proud to be in a minority regarding literalism of the Bible - which is a very new thing in Biblical Scholarship, only introduced in this century. For years no one even considered taking the Bible literally.

I hope my post didn't leave the impression that I was imposing my beliefs on you (or anyone else). Nor was I trying to imply that anyone who disagrees with me is wrong or condemned. I won't do that and I don't think that is our place.

 

It is God's sovereign territory to provide that path and it is up to each of us to seek it for ourselves. There are many routes to the same destination and what may be right for me may not be right for someone else.

For something to be scientific, wouldn't you agree that it should have to be able to be proven? I never said evolution was science, you did. And I have yet to be convinced via proof. So if you're asking me to believe in evolution because I couldn't blindly believe in creation, I'd argue that you "blindly" believe in evolution because you were taught it in the 7th grade.

If you look around at your enviroment, world and space, how can one deny that their is a creator. The thing that I don't understand is that with anything in the scientific world, a fact has to be proven. Evolution is a theory that has never been proven. Therefore one has to conclude that there may be an alternative. To see how our body works, how the position of the earth has to be just in the right location- believing that is by chance takes a bigger leap of faith than believing in a Supreme Being. Then if you have to have faith to believe that where is the science?

There are no different creation stories. Ch 1 give the chronological order ie days1 then 2 etc. Ch 2 then goes on to explain and further describe in more detail. I'm not sure where you get different stories?
