If we don't have to base our beliefs on anything specific, then each of us can get to Heaven on our own accord. If that's the case, then we have no need for Jesus. If we have no need for Jesus then we have no need for the Bible. The Bible then just becomes another book and has no true plan. But if you believe the Bible, you can know exactly what we need to do. I am not trying to argue with you. I am just trying to let you see there is Truth in the Word.

My mind cannot comprehend the existance, other than a Supreme Being, of something that had no beginning.

That's what keeps me up at night! What is just beyond the universe? If the universe was created; what was there before? How did the energy that became the Universe get there? what created it? And what created that? Absolutes give me hives. :cry:

If you believe in evolution where we evolved from a monkey, well, there is no evidence of such and in no manner whatsoever coincides with the teaching of Genesis. So, a blanket statement of evolution is the answer is not remotely correct by trail of evidence/fact.

I think the teachings of "Creationism" and creation are two distinctly different things.

 

I believe God created us. I just don't believe it happened on the timeline of the "Creationisn" followers.

Now, if you take the creation story in Genesis 2 literally man was created before the animals.

 

Of course to take the Bible literally you have to believe both - which is to say that God created animals before he created man before he created animals.

Exactly, this is what has puzzled me the most. The very group that accuses the creationists of being close-minded are now protesting someone presenting an opposing view. Very contraditory in my opinion.

Good post. I think I can wrap my mind around the fact that before the universe was created there was nothing. How that nothing became something, anything, is where I find there must have been a God.

As I've stated in earlier posts, until someone can explain where the dense matter involved in "The Big Bang" came from, I see no alternative other than Creationism. I have no problem with species evolving into an adaptation of their enviroment although the whole "primordial soup" deal seems far fetched.

I don't need proof to believe in God - that is what faith is for. I am just pointing out that we don't have proof of creationism.
