No need ... the only meatheads here are the guys that make meathead points. ;)

Maybe Henry Clay would have beaten St. Xavier, maybe not. I suspect it would have been a close game.

Bottom line ... going by the scores of their respective games, Male and St. Xavier have been much more competitive with Trinity than the Lexington schools have over the years, despite the claims of a certain other poster with a Lexington background. The numbers I posted bear that out.

I suspect Male would have beaten Henry Clay just as Trinity did. For all of the Blue Devils' special-teams heroics, they still lost the game by three touchdowns. Male was inches away from beating Trinity.

Add Manual to the list of schools that consistantly plays Trinity tough.
Central yes, but not Manuel.
I wouldn't take Manuel either... just one guy against entire teams?!
Manual has been pretty good the last 2-3 years, probably even better than Central in the span ... maybe you haven't been paying attention.
pld has a thing against Manual, he's on it all the time.

No argument there, but my original post was referring to postseason games between Trinity, Male, St. Xavier and the Lexington schools.

Yeah, Manual hasn't had a postseason game against the Rocks in sometime...:bunny:
Having been able to see all the big three the last four years I disagree that Trinity has been head and shoulders above X and Male.

The Lexington and NKY people see Trinity more (especially when they're playing their best ball) and I think that's part of the perception. It's also a matter of style- to a Manual fan that only watches Manual games, X is the year in year out best of the Big 3, because they're the one that the Rams can't get close to most years. Trinity would be the weakest of the Big 3 to the same person, because Manual has beaten Trinity recently and played them tough on nearly every occasion. But the reality is that in that span Trinity has been the better team and Manual just matches up better against the Rocks than the Tigers.

I wasn't going to say that ... then again, I didn't have to.

I would take "DIT-KA" though ...

DIT-KA is more than a man...:jump:

That one didn't work out so well ;)

For the purposes of this discussion, both ... Male and St. Xavier have consistently played Trinity tougher than the Lexington schools have. That pokes holes in your theory that only Trinity is superior to the Lexington schools.

Male and St. Xavier have won state titles this decade. Lexington's last one came in the mid-90s, if memory serves. That also pokes holes in your theory.

How does it poke holes? Since when is a victory not a victory? It really doesn't matter how you win it. You keep wanting to recieve credit for the closeness of the scores, but come on, lets be real. Trinity still wins! Lex schools have won those games before and at one point in time, Fern Creek was the best 4A school in Lou. and guess who beat them? That's right, Lexington Dunbar.

What information gives you the ideal that in the past three years that Manual was better than Lou. Central? I think there are quite a few that will disagree on that one.

You would win much of the time, I suspect.

I seriously doubt that.

Two of those title games could have gone either way, which means they weren't "head and shoulders" better. Trinity was "head and shoulders above" the Lexington schools, however.

Coulda shoulda, woulda. Same old, same old. Count the win. After the winner is declared, its over with.
