When do you think Lexington will compete?

Pay a team $1,500 for a bowl game which you can get $2,000 at the West Licker County Toilet Bowl against a team who just went 4-6, when that team is trying to get money for a Weightroom to be built. Dunbar played MBA last year and Trinity this year and has a weightroom now, I'm not listening to anything about ducking people. And if I'm not mistaken Dunbar went further in the playoffs in 05 than Male, and Male was not beaten by a Louisville power either. And Male could have played a power from Tennessee which was the replacement for Dunbar but they chose not too, so thats the pot calling the kettle black there.
I don't care who they played this year, they ditched the contract for the Old Rivalry Bowl against Male in 2005 and by extension Manual this year. There is no 'pot calling the kettle black.' Shawnee was the replacement for the contract dissolvement, not some power from Tennessee- Shawnee might have been drubbed 62-6 in that game, but at least they stepped up to the plate. That 4-6 clause in your opening sentence says it all, why not just own it?

For the record, Male lost 49-47 to a VERY, VERY good team that year in John Hardin, which lost to X the next week 21-20. X then lost to Trinity in 14-6 in a game where they lost what was in my opinion the Louisville offensive MVP in 2005.

Dunbar, on the other hand, lost to Henry Clay 55-20... who lost 41-20 to Trinity.

I saw Male play 5 times that season (Shawnee, PRP, X and Manual), I was at the X-JH game, the T-HC game, and both the T-X games that year. I may not have seen Dunbar (entirely by their fault I might add) but judging by their blowout loss to HC, and from what I know of all the teams involved Dunbar has no right to brag about advancing further than Male that year in the bracket. It's certainly no reason to justify having broken off the game.

Unless Murphreesboro Tennessee just decided not too contact you all then, yes there is the pot calling the kettle black. Because they contacted Dunbar looking for anyone on opening day of the season, and was informeed there is now an opening in Manual's bowl and their coaching staff said they would look into it.

Hensley and his staff was not part of the 4-6 team that was scheduled by the old coach. They made a great move to turn a team that was in turmoil just having kids bring out a camera on the field and take pictures in the last game of the season was the low point in Dunbar School History in the 04 Bryan Station game. They made a great move to get their kids motivated to win and they had a great season. Cry all you want too don't put buy out clauses in contracts if you don't want to use them, or make them more money. And for the record Male didn't exactly whack PRP which was a common opponent that year.

Buy outs happen all the time, take a guess why Lone Oak was replaced by MBA this year in Dunbar's schedule?

These arguements are getting old, Trinity is the champions and I'm tired of arguing who is 4th place or something. If Manual's goal is to just be better than Dunbar, Henry Clay or Whitley County for that matter just keep making points and Trinity will keep laughing why they keep on winning championships.

When you insist that Trinity is the only thing keeping Lexington schools from being among the state's elite, it makes perfect sense to compare scores ... bottom line, Male and St. Xavier have consistently played the Shamrocks closer than the Lexington schools have.

Didn't say Trinity is the only thing keeping Lexington schools from winning state, but if you look very closely at the playoff brackets, they are keeping Lexington schools from reaching the finals. WOW, did you discover something. Regardless of who plays who closer, losing is losing, and it doesn't heal until you win. Some people are looking for moral victories instead of actual ones.

You act like Trinity is the only program that is better than the Lexington schools ... therefore, you must believe that only Trinity is denying Lexington the trophy. Of course, that ignores the fact that the last time Trinity failed to reach the championship game, Scott County beat out the Lexington schools then got smashed by St. Xavier (one of those Louisville schools that can't compete with Trinity).

Male and St. Xavier have actually beaten Trinity on occasion ... it's been quite some time since a Lexington school has, and in most cases they aren't all that competitive with them. The playoff scores bear that out.

For one thing, in each of the last two years, Manual has been rated significantly higher than Central in the Massey and Cantrall ratings.

Common opponents ... both have played Pleasure Ridge Park the last two seasons. PRP was beating Central 13-7 last season when the game was called because of inclement weather in the second quarter. Manual beat PRP 21-14 later in the season.

In 2005, PRP beat Central 33-29, then lost to Manual 42-28 later in the season. That may have been after PRP's big running back was hurt, but it's obvious that Manual was on Central's level at the very least, if not better.

In 2004, Male beat Central 23-20 and later beat Manual 24-23.

Manual has also been rated higher than teams that have beaten them also, so what's your point? Ratings are nothing. In '05 X beat T by 32 points only to lose to them when it matters most: that thing called "The State Championship game" . You have nothing still.

I would really like to give a congragulations to Trinity posters on here. You all have the rest of Louisville blind folded or something. You all win state championships, yet the rest of Louisville holds their anger towards Lexington. I don't know how you all did it, but it works like a charm.

In all honesty, I have a tough time seeing how Dunbar's decision to drop out of Manual and Male's bowl game and play Lone Oak was a huge factor in Dunbar's improvement. Bottom line ... Dunbar took a public relations hit for the decision to break the contract for the bowl game, as it very well should have.

I believe there was a problem with the bowl structure for Murphreesboro.

Manual's goal is to make it to the top. You have the structure of this conversation backwards- other people are using Manual and other Louisville schools as a measuring stick for Dunbar and other Lexington schools. I was making my side of that argument.

Manual has also been rated higher than teams that have beaten them also, so what's your point?
Which teams rated lower than Manual beat them?

You have nothing still.
It's much more evidence than you have offered.

Did you watch those games?

I saw both, once from the sidelines, the other from the pressbox.

Actually, there is one Lexington-area poster in this thread who does it all by himself with his inane comments.

They also bare out that a Lexington has had more playoffs success than almost all of the Louisville schools except T, X, and Male, no one else. So an appropriate thread would be when will Lexington compete with those three instead of Louisville as a whole. The rest of Lou. is average.

Westsider, I'm absolutely certain Manual has lost to teams rated lower than them. Upsets happen every week every season.

See, this is the problem with Manual fans. They dropped out of the "Male Game", that's it. But I knew sooner or later, someone would try and stamp Manual's name in with it somewhere. WOW!

:lol::lol::lol::lol:

That's such a silly, inane argument unless they're playing the same teams. And they aren't.
