When do you think Lexington will compete?

Featured Replies

Here's a brief comparison with Manual to the Lexington-area schools, using scores of games with common opponents:

2006

Trinity 28, Manual 3

Trinity 56, Manual 35

2005

Trinity 38, Manual 34

Trinity 41, Henry Clay 20

2004

St. Xavier 28, Manual 14

St. Xavier 49, Scott County 9

Oh, yeah ... Manual wouldn't be competitive with the best in Lexington. The above scores seem to indicate otherwise.

The above scores indicate that you lost the game. Trinity's style of play and depth works very well against Lexington schools. Manual has neither. Talent, but they don't play like X, Male, or Trinity. The coaching is definately not the same. If it's competition, then you usually split games yearly or bi-yearly. That is clearly not the case, as you indicated above. A couple of those scores are bow outs. Not a very good example buddy.

As to the Manual games, I don't think that is quite fair. Trinity normally plays Manual week 2 or 3. But for the 2002 Trinity team, Beatty's teams always seem to start off very slowly. By playoff time, they are the best team in the state (2001, 2002, 2003, 2005 and 2006), and that does not bode well for the Lexington teams. The level Trinity improves during the season is astonishing.

Thank you for proving my point. There are some who understand football I see.

Noted ... pldgreatno2, this is how you use supporting evidence to advance an argument.

If you can prove me wrong, then don't waist any time doing so. So far you have been shot down in all you say. Continue to dig!

By the way, why would I need evidence to prove something that everyone knows? If you chose to turn away from the truth, that's on you. It's not my job to uncover your eyes.

The above scores indicate that you lost the game.
How so? Those scores show that Manual has been just as competitive with Trinity and St. Xavier as the Lexington schools have ... it's obvious, yet you choose not to see it.

Somehow, someway, especially in 2004 and 2005, Manual managed to weather "Trinity's style of play and depth" just as well as or better than the best team in Lexington.

It's a pretty good example, and one that is certainly better than anything you have offered. Your reading comprehension leaves a lot to be desired.

There is no definitive answer, one way or the other ... only opinions. Some of ours are well-reasoned and well-explained. Yours are not. You apparently choose not to "waist" any of your time offering some evidence to back your claims.
A ram fan has backed up what I said. Maybe you didn't see it. Check page 3. Do your research. Hey, don't let the truth get to you man. Its only reality.
He didn't do the research either. Over the last two seasons, the only game Manual has lost to a team rated lower them was a 42-35 loss at Warren Central, which was rated 0.1 behind them in the Cantrall ratings at the end of the season. Wow ... what an upset that was.

Bottom line ... the research I've presented shows that Manual has been at least as good as Central the past two or three years, probably even a shade better. You've offered nothing to the contrary except your opinion, and I think you know how much credibility that has with me.

Manual played them and beat them in the, look here's those two words again "REGULAR SEASON". And it was early in the season at that. Have you played them close in the playoffs? By the way, When have Lexington public schools played X? Did Manual beat Trinity in '04 and '05? If so, how early in the season was it? Did Manual play them again in the playoffs? If not, why?

So in other words what you are saying is that if T, X, or Male does not beat Manual, they would be state champs? That is the category you are trying to put them in.;)

Has Manual been to a region championship game? Has Central?

By the way, Trinity has proven that they can beat Lexington's best on a yearly basis in the playoffs. X and Male don't get the opportunity. As far as the rest of Louisville goes, along with X and Male, we don't know because it hasn't come up yet. St. X beat Scott Co.. That's not in Fayette Co. Next door, but not Lexington. More like Georgetown.

I don't know what the heck you're saying ... slow down and read my posts again, and if you want to summarize them again, do it clearly.

You're rehashing my posts now? Imitation is supposed to be the sincerest form of flattery ...

St. X beat Scott Co.. That's not in Fayette Co. Next door, but not Lexington. More like Georgetown.
St. Xavier beat Scott County 49-9 ... the same Scott County that was 6-0 against the Lexington public schools that season, winning by an average of 21 points.

Okay. Here it is. Are you seeing it clearly? You say that T, X, and Male are clearly better than the Lexington schools, right? Then you put Manual up there with them by saying they play closer games. That is also your way of saying that Manual too is better than the Lexington schools. That's pretty much what you have been posting. So if it weren't for the Big 2 Medium 1, Manual would be the next best thing.:thumb:
