When do you think Lexington will compete?

Featured Replies

See, this is the problem with Manual fans. They dropped out of the "Male Game", that's it. But I knew sooner or later, someone would try and stamp Manual's name in with it somewhere. WOW!
Westsider is not a Manual fan.:sssh:

Are you unaware of how that bowl was structured? You'd have to be to claim that it didn't impact Manual at all.

In all honesty, I have a tough time seeing how Dunbar's decision to drop out of Manual and Male's bowl game and play Lone Oak was a huge factor in Dunbar's improvement. Bottom line ... Dunbar took a public relations hit for the decision to break the contract for the bowl game, as it very well should have.

Well, if building a 3,000 square weightroom for the future of the program which needed money for it doesn't show you how that game helped the program I don't know what does. Dunbar would have gotten 1500 dollars for the bowl game and that money is gone on transportation alone not counting the food the kids eat before the game.

They got a home game where they cleared over 5 grand not counting concessions which went into to pay for the new weightroom.

Dunbar would have played anyone at home to get the weightroom pot going and too get a win under there build, no different then college teams do. Don't play your toughest game the first of the season. That idea is not new.

I believe there was a problem with the bowl structure for Murphreesboro.

Manual's goal is to make it to the top. You have the structure of this conversation backwards- other people are using Manual and other Louisville schools as a measuring stick for Dunbar and other Lexington schools. I was making my side of that argument.

Why would anyone use Manual as a measuring stick? please explain

I would really like to give a congragulations to Trinity posters on here. You all have the rest of Louisville blind folded or something. You all win state championships, yet the rest of Louisville holds their anger towards Lexington. I don't know how you all did it, but it works like a charm.

Thanks, "Golfer". I have thought the same thing and have been scratching my head on that one for a while now.

Ask The Golfer, he was the first to mention them in this thread. And of course, you're moderately obsessed with the Rams.

Anyway. I'm out of here before this thread gets shut down and we're all suspended.

:lol::lol::lol::lol:

That's such a silly, inane argument unless they're playing the same teams. And they aren't.

We are where we are, just like you are where you are so I wouldn't complain about it. The thing is you actually get a break. Lexington schools see Trinity at their best (state semi's). You guys see them in the regular season when they are fine tuning for that state-semi/ state championship, we see them in late Nov. at full throttle.

It's Manual's bowl how could I not mention them?

Your right, sorry Golfer

Westsider, I'm absolutely certain Manual has lost to teams rated lower than them. Upsets happen every week every season.
I don't doubt it, but it would be nice to see the poster I referred to actually do some research to support his argument instead of just spouting off his opinions.

I was talking about on-the-field improvement. I don't dismiss your point for a minute, but the fact is that Dunbar backed out of a contract to play a home game against a weaker opponent. That simply doesn't cast the program in a good light to many people.

I want to get something straight, I'm not here to put down Manual, Male, etc. from Louisville. But these threads of "when can Lexington compete with Louisville" revolves around one team, Trinity.

Is Manual better than everyone in Lexington, maybe, maybe not. I think Male was in 06 but I don't think so in 05.

Either way who cares. We all are trying to catch Trinity. The Rocks have a nice Divde and Conquer method going here, if I'm the only one who has picked up on it.

The state should unite in a common goal of taking the champions out, not bickering for 3 or 4th place.

Well, maybe the thread should have been titled "the best of Louisville."

There is one poster on here that insists that Trinity is the only program in Louisville that is regularly better than the Lexington schools ... that simply isn't the case. St. Xavier and Male are in many years, and Manual (and maybe PRP very soon) is on a par with them.

I don't see the "divide and conquer strategy" ... the reasonable posters here are simply expressing well-reasoned opinions.

Think from a Trinity fans perspective. I have two or three schools arguing over who is better and none of them are as good as us.

It's the offseason ... fans have to have something to bicker about.

Besides, it's a topic worthy of debate ...
