When do you think Lexington will compete?

Featured Replies

No, it isn't garbage. Under the old system, Manual had to compete in a region that included Male and St. Xavier. The Lexington schools had neither of those schools, who you've already admitted are better than then Lexington teams, standing in their path in the first three rounds.

Not to mention that the other district in Manual's region (John Hardin, North Hardin, Meade County, Nelson County) is generally much tougher than the other district in the Lexington schools' region.

Well then support a team that doesn't have that tough of a raod to travel. . You keep playing this crap card about who's district is better when the champ remains the same. This arguement is old. Here, Manual is now a part of the Big 3, now renamed the Big 4 or 5 if you want to include PRP for christmas. Are all of the pro Manual posters happy? Someone from outside the Manual bandwagon categorized the (just found this one out) Crimson with the likes of T, X, and Male. Now go out and make it to the regional finals at the least. You say compete, it shows out of the past what 7 at least, you're a no show in the regional championship game. Please explain that? Male has been there, what's Manual's excuse?

First of all, I'm in no way associated with Manual ... heck, I live more than three hours from there and have only seen the school a couple of times in my life. I simply recognize that Manual has established their program as one of the better ones in the old 4A and the new 6A ranks, yet they haven't been able to get by Trinity, St. Xavier and Male. No shame in that.

Once again, no one is ranking Manual on equal footing as the "Big Three" ... I'm simply advocating the position that they're as close to that group as the Lexington schools are, an entirely defendable position.

Summarize my position as "crap" if you want ... it's still quite a bit closer to reality than yours, and it says a lot about your position that you constantly back away from challenging my arguments in favor of just lashing out at anything you can pull out of thin air.

You want to penalize Manual for not making the regional championship game but at the same time you say the aguement of district strength is old. You can't have it both ways. Manual played in the toughest district hands down. There have been 3 state champs in the past 10 years in 4A football and 2 of them are in Manual's district.

It's not close to reality because like you said, the old Manual not the more recent.

You have a pretty high position on here, so I guess I'd better be careful. When does a team stop complaining and get better? Have you paid attention? There supposed to have superior talent right? How do you get a two way out of me saying they don't make the region and complain about their district? Dear Woodsrider, what are you talking about? That's your opinion about the toughest district, but how about this. Most of the time, the toughest district/ region produces the state champs because that same district/ region prepares them to be champs. Check Cincinnati, NKY, etc..:sssh:

Actually that is quite false on the toughest district. Traditionally the best teams in the city of Louisville have been in the St.X, Male, Manual district. I can think of one year in the last 10 that our district was tougher, 2003. Trinity for the most part has a pushover district. That is one of the reasons we have scheduled out of state teams so often.

There have been seasons that all three of those teams should have been in the top 5 in 4A, period but at the end of the season because they have knocked out all but one of them by round 2 they don't get a chance to advance.

If we seeded our playoffs much of this would be a moot point, but the problem there would be that we would likely have 2 Louisville schools in the finals again more often than not. Big 3 football is the best in 4A now 6A. Sometimes we have Manual, PRP and Ballard knocking on the door; but their teams that manage that so far come around about as often as the teams from Lexington that do the same.

By your logic I assume you consider Ryle the second best team in 4A last season?

So you are saying Trinity's district has been the toughest in 4A most years?

My point is you say Manual needs to quit using the excuse that their district is so tough but then you also knock them for not making the regional game. I am saying you can't have it both ways. They haven't made the regional game because their district is that tough. They have to beat either Male or X every year to either get to the regional championship or beat one of them in the regional championship.

You say Manual needs to quit with the excuses, right? I say that now you are making those same excuses for them. Then to excuse yourself, you say I can't have it both ways. Weak, very weak. X and Male both have down years just like everyone else so the have more than enough opportunities. I don't hear the Male fans or better yet the PRP fans whinning about how tough their district is, just Manual. And that's because they want to make themselves feel good about being mediocre with all that tanlent they're supposed to have. It's Manual who say there better or would be at the top of our district, not us. Then, after all that, when we question how good they really think they are, they run behind the excuse of their district being so hard. Guess who else has joined in on the nonsense side? hint: mirror

Actually, under the old set up it would be chalk for Manual to play X or H in round 2 and the other in round 3. In the new set up last year, if Manual had beaten X in round 1, H would have been waiting in round 2. And if Manual had beaten H in round 2, T would have been waiting in round 3. Alas, a moot point, Manual played X tough until the top two QBs left the game with season ending injuries in the 2nd half (IN THE SAME SERIES)...:creepy:

1) There are fewer PRP fans on this site. In fact, only two that I can think of, and they don't post with anywhere near the frequency that myself and the Brothers post.

2) If you don't think PRP fans were aware that R2D4 was a meatgrinder, you're wrong.

3) I'll space it out so that you can digest each word:

Manual.....Fans.....Didn't.....Interject.....Manual.....Into.....This....Thread.

4) As for nonsense, I'll let the fact that fans of other schools seem to be coming down pretty solid on the other side speak for itself. I guess we've got them all brainwashed.

I would love for you to show me where I said this.

It's not close to reality because like you said, the old Manual not the more recent.
It's obvious that you haven't accurately comprehended anything about my position on the issue. I said nothing about the "old Manual" ... actually, I don't even know what you are talking about.

He misread your comment about the old 4A now 6A.

Although I would add that Manual claims two Mythical National Titles, so 'Old Manual' does have a lot to be proud of.

Before being so hard on one of the best academic schools in the state, I'd at least learn the difference between "there" and "they're"...

I'm curious though pld...you stated earlier that it doesn't matter how much you win or lose by, because regardless of the score, you either win or lose. That was your defense against people showing you how Manual has faired better against X/T/Male than the Lexington schools 90% of the time. I am correct in saying this, right? Well, if I am, then I'm wondering what happened from the time of this post to now. In that post, you state that Cincy schools don't blow out HHS and CovCath, so they're not "heads and shoulders" above them. If I understand that post correctly, you're saying that the score does matter, but now you've changed your tune. If the scores do matter (and I think they do), then the empirical evidence presented earlier that compared game scores across several years, should show you that Manual is probably as good or better than what Lexington has to offer. Of course, past performance is not an indicator of future results.

The problem with your side of the debate, is that you offer very little evidence to show why you don't think they are, rather you sling mud.
