Ahem....UMMM.....I will. Fletcher is pro-life. Reading Beshear's thread he makes zero comment that I could find about abortion. Under his issues link, he made no comment on abortion. I am assuming that means pro-choice.

 

And as mentioned already, I am not for legalizing gambling.

TD, here is the problem though. Beshear represents very little on my views on things. So do I vote for Fletcher who does views that better represent mine or vote for Beshear who doesn't represent my views? It is the proverbial rock and the hard place.

I can't actually believe that people would want Fletcher back. That man is REALLY full of crap!!!!

 

 

I don't absolve Fletcher of totally mishandling the hiring/firing mess. I think he made a huge mistake granting the pardons. Nonetheless, I consider it one blemish (albeit it a big one, granted) on a record that otherwise is pretty dang good. I fully expect the teachers not to like him for trying to change their health coverage (even though I supported what he was advocating...I don't have near the sympathy for teachers' compensation and benefits that a lot of people on here seem to have...and I have a sister who's a retired teacher and a brother who currently teaches). TD, why other than the hiring/firing mess are you so anti-Fletcher if you don't mind me asking?

Other than the hiring mess (which every previous governor has done), I see nothing wrong with Fletcher's last four years. We went from a governor who let prisoners out of jail early because the state had no money to having a surplus. The state park system has seen a long overdue overhaul to again make it the jewel of the state. More jobs have been created in the past four years than the previous four. More roads have been paved than in any other administration. Improvements have been made to the Medicaid system and the list really goes on. If you think you are worse off now than you were under Paul Patton, I'm not sure what to say except it may be time to move out of the cave.

Don't worry it's not just a Fletcher thing..I am pretty much anti-politics. Anytime I want hear a "poly" utter a word all I hear is wah,wah,wah (you know like the teacher on Charlie Brown)...

You would think by the tone of the posts on here that Democrats don't realize all the (trumped up) charges against Fletcher were dropped. Fletcher has done a good job, and Beshear is a lightweight retread. But this is Kentucky, and most Democrats would vote for Charles Manson running as a Democrat over Jesus Christ running as a Republican and have no trouble reconciling it in their minds...

Personally I think folks who are deciding not to vote for Fletcher because of this issue are similar to folks who decide whom to vote for based strictly on the abortion issue; too narrow of a perspective.

Yeah, but if Ann Northup picked on Jessica Alba I doubt that Ms. Alba would go on television to whine about being picked on by a bully. I have a great idea for a campaign spot. On one side they could show some shots from an Arnold action movie. On the other side they could show little boy Fletcher being picked on by a girl. Not very enlightening, but funny.
