KY All-Star tryouts?

Featured Replies

See him play and then PLEASE get back to me. The kid is very good! If he gets a tryout and a fair shake he will make the team.
And the same could be said for others not on your list. Jones will have an advantage, being from Lexington, and could get the "benefit of the doubt" if he has a less than stellar tryout. Some players in other parts of the state don't have that benefit.

Or you could just come out and say the kid isnt deserving without ever seeing him. Don't dance around it...

I could, but that's not what I'm saying ... read what I write instead of interpreting it the way you want.

Simply put, what I am saying is that in watching him play for 3 years now, hes really come into his own and there is no way that there are 10 or 12 better seniors in the state than Jones. People forget Bryan Station was ranked 3rd in the state and was beat by a very good Tates Creek team in the closing seconds of the game. And Jones along with Lewis and Mack, were an outstanding 1-2-3 punch.

Now please go find you some film or something. Watch how good he really is and then get back with me.

I have no doubt that Jones is a fine player and Bryan Station was certainly one of the state's best teams.

On the other hand, Jones hasn't made anyone's all-state team that I can tell and there are some other players with excellent credentials (Fraliex and Vanhoose to name just two) that will contend for spots on the all-star roster.

That is because Jones is overshadowed by being in the 13th region with Scott Co. If he gets a fair shake by whoever the coach is, no doubt that he makes it IMO. I am not talking about a player from an area of the state that doesnt face the best competition and is hard to judge. I am talking about a player who has proven himself against great competition.

I look forward to seeing Fraliex play - I've heard he can flat out score. It's awesome that the tryouts are here in Georgetown. The tryouts are much more fun to watch than the games against Indiana. You get to see all the kids from the entire state compete against each other.

11th region.

I like Jones's game, but Lewis always played better against my Cards.

I hope that Fraliex opens some eyes at the tryouts ... he will have to if he wants to make the team because he's largely unknown outside of western Kentucky.

Is Vanhoose over his ACL tear already?

Both are great players. Id like to know who all got an invite to tryout.

Is Vanhoose over his ACL tear already?
Well, no ... oops, forgot about that.

I feel a lot of people look past him b/c of how Mack dominates the ball in their games and gets most of the pub.

Does anyone know the schedule of the tryouts?

See post #2.

Was told today that Jordan Hammonds of South Laurel will also be attending the tryouts this weekend.
