Track The Reds...

Featured Replies

The Reds, barring a drastic change over the next two series, will become irrelavant for the rest of the summer, and we haven't even reached the summer.

The sad but true tale...

Anyone want to set an over/under on attendance for the first game back from the road trip when they play the Nationals?

Too bad the trading market is cold...

I think if I quit watching they will do better. I turned it on today at 5-5 to watch the devastation unfold. Life isn't fair.

I like to watch and listen to sports for enjoyment and the thrill of competition. This Reds team has drained both out of listening to a Reds game this year.

The line of the year so far from Lonnie Wheeler's blog...

The Reds need a shot in the arm. If they don’t get one soon, they’ll need a shot in the head.

Is it bad that when I turn on 700 WLW during a Reds game I'm hoping for the 'Banana Phone'?

Wow! this season will go down as one of the worst in Reds history.

The offense is scoring close to 5 runs a game. The starting pitching has been halfway decent most of the year.

Not that the offense can't improve or get better, but the problem has been the guys in the pen with ERA's over 6.

So you think they're ok? I think they're horrible. They have played a pretty easy schedule until now and are out of contention in May! But I guess there's always a silver lining to any black cloud. You just had to look pretty hard to see it. I've been a Reds fan since I can remember, and I just don't understand the apathy of fans. Seems like no one thinks it a big deal that one of the most storied franchises in baseball has sunk to the depths they have. I think that anyone that thinks this franchise is in good shape simply can't see reality. 5 years with good front office management is my prediction for playoff contention. Add that 5 years to an already 8 year drought (yes I am counting 99) thats 13 years. Throw out 99 as a playoff year and now you're at what 20 something years without a playoff team. Doesn't get any worse than that.

No, no. They have A LOT of problems and you don't have to follow the franchise everyday to see that.

Even though I'm usually a VERY pessimistic person, I'm trying to find something/ANYTHING positive at this point. I agree with you and I see all the faults as much as anyone else. I have watched just about every game this year.

Changing a manager or one bullpen guy isn't going to suddenly make this team a World Series contender. I understand that. They need to start by getting rid of Narron and going from there. We see a team every year that starts off dead in the water, they get on a run and the season becomes a success.

I'm not saying this team can turn into a 600 ball club with one change, but a new voice is needed and would help in the long run.

I do think the 1 positive is the farm system. There are quite a few studs down in the minors. The key will be having the right people in place to guide these kids to the majors. 3-5 years away unfotunately.
