Track The Reds...

Wow, the bullpen doesn't blow a game. I was hoping to hear those fireworks one more time.

Nice way to end the homestand, some kind of positive note.

Shall be a VEWWY interesting road trip, would be nice if they could go at least 3-3 and show some semblance of life. The Central will be there for the taking when it's all said and done.

The good news is they always have a ton of success on the West coast...

Brew Crew have played more home games than anyone in MLB and they have the Mets and Braves coming up.

Yeah, and Dunn is a threat to lead the league in steals and triples.

Can it be any worse than our friendly confines?

Actually, sadly, yes.

2-7 is very believable.

What's the value of your offense performing when you pitch?

Harang is 5-1 5.04 ERA 1.16 hits per inning 4 HR

Milton is winless 5.17 ERA 1.24 hits per inning 4 HR

Miltie is POd. Can a brother get some offense?

It's very important, but he has also averaged more than an inning and a half more per start than Milton. He has less of a chance of the bullpen messing it up.

I'd like to offer an explanation here that you may mull over, spit out if you think it's hooey. After watching Harang this season, versus last, it appears to me that when he has a lead, he is saying "here, put it in play and we'll get you out". That versus nickel and diming every plate appearance, nibbling at the corners, etc.. I understand the argument of run support, just seems he pipes it in there when he gets ahead.

This is about the 4th or 5th game he has given up 5 ER. This is the only one that he had a big lead in.

But he's pitched with the lead, not from behind.

Check the scoring of his games. He has not pitched with the lead very often in these 5-run games.

Not true. He was down 5-0 to the Cubs when the Reds erupted for 6 runs in the 5th. He was down 3-0 to the Pirates when the Reds rallied to win 10-4. More often than not Harang has gotten down early, and the Reds have rallied to get him a win.
