This is like saying nobody wants the UNC/Duke/UCLA basketball jobs, or that nobody wants the UT/Florida/ND/USC/tOSU/UM football jobs.

 

The expectations are astronomical, but there is the cash and the resources to back it up.

 

The new coach will be paid $2-$3 million a year, have a brand new $30 million practice facility, and the tradition of the winningest program in history. I think they'll deal with the crazy fans.

 

I'm not saying Donovan is 100%, but its at least 50/50.

One ironic observation, it seems that Billy D might be the #1 choice and the only person that Mitch is actively pursuing.

I don't know the details, but its been reported here and other places that several candidates, or at least their schools, have been contacted by UK.

I always wondered what role Rick Pitino had in Tubby Smith's hiring. If its already been posted, tell me where to look. Otherwise, if you know the answer I'd be interested in hearing it. It just seemed like Pitino left and Tubby was here the next day; never really seemed like a big search.

I don't think anybody has been offered. I'd guess some feelers have been sent out, sort of like the Minnesota AD with Tubby's agent. But a job offer won't come until after next weekend. It can't.

While I don't appreciate you calling my buddies liars, you are entitled to your own opinion. I'd like to hear the facts you have to prove my buddy wrong, since you clearly state that its a fact that my buddy is a liar or was given bad info.

I don't have to have facts, only common sense. What are your facts this happen, aside from your buddy telling you it did?

Listen if you believe your buddy that's fine. But surely you are smarter than that.

Think some of these are bad, you should see some of them going on CatsPause. One guy is claiming to be the father of a UF freshman BB player. He claims that Billy D addressed the team after the game today and informed them that win or lose it all he was going to UK. So they might as well go out as champs together.

 

Another guy is claiming to be a UK student that is got friends with Meeks and Jasper. Claims Meeks called him on the phone and that Mitch has meet with the team and advised them that Billy D would be the next coach. Mitch and Billy have been speaking for over two weeks going back to the SEC tourny.

I have an uncle who is a mailman in Gainsville and delivers the mail to Billy. He told me that Billy asked him last week what he need to do to get his mail forwarded to Lexington... :lol:

Well I was one of the leading posters on your posts, so I will comment.

 

I said about 2 months ago that I felt that while undeserving the atmosphere at UK had become to the point that Tubby needed to leave. It harkens of the Bob Huggins/UC situation.

 

I have also said that I believe Billy D is the ONLY coach that can immediately change that atmosphere.

 

An atmosphere that it is about UK basketball and not all the negativity that has surrounded UK basketball this year. Immediately after a win it was the UK fans ask where all the TBers were. And after a loss, it was all the TBers saying see, see, see.

I did find it interesting that Billy D was lauded yesterday for his style of play. Where he slowed the game down and pounded the ball inside to his post players.

 

I thought that was ironically funny since the fans seem to love Billy D for his style of play but hated Tubby for it and yesterday Billy D was being called a genius for the style of play.

The difference is that Donovan adjusted to fit the game. That style was Tubby Smith's on a nightly basis.
