They lost to..... #1 seed UNC 66-73 after being up 8 at the half #4 seed Maryland 60-71 #3 seed Texas A&M by 20 (horrible game shooting against best FG% D in NCAA) #2 seed Wisconsin 79-82 in overtime All of these games were of course on the road. They beat who they should and played the others pretty well. Team has 8 Juniors and Seniors. How many games if any do you think they will win, and how many do you think they can win?
March 15, 200719 yr I'm impressed with them. None of the teams they have lost to this year would want to play them again, especially on a neutral floor, that's for sure. Notre Dame is in trouble!
March 15, 200719 yr The Maryland game wasn't that close. Winthrop made the score manageable in the last few minutes. That doesn't mean they aren't a good team, though. I picked Notre Dame because everyone was picking Winthrop, but now I'm not so sure.
March 15, 200719 yr I think they are a sweet 16 team in a weak bracket, I think we will see 1 Florida vs 12 Old Dominion and 2 Wisconsin vs 11 Winthrop in the sweet 16.

March 15, 200719 yr I hate wanting to take the "trendy" upset. It almost never works out... Me too. As soon as I saw the pairing I said that Im going to take Winthrop in my bracket. But when it came down to filling it out today and after doing my research I just didnt pull the trigger and took ND.

March 15, 200719 yr I have them in the Elite 8. I didn't realize their resume was that strong and they were that experienced. I just knew they were supposed to be pretty good, and I'm not real high on ND, Oregon or Wisconsin. But, I agree with GT...the popular upset pick usually doesn't happen, so if I had it to do over, I'd probably take them back a line or two on my bracket...:lol:
