Shelby Valley vs. Elliott County, Thursday 6:30

PLEASE! some of those sophomores have 3 years starting varsity experience. I am in no way downing them. I wish them all the luck and will be rooting for them come game time, but don't call them young.

It doesn't matter if they've played varsity since 4th grade - they're still young.

Will you web cast it too?

Going against the odds in this one. Elliott Co. is 0-2 outside the 16th region this season but I'll the Lions in a close one!

Will you web cast it too?

I think so, I still have to check with the KHSAA and see if that is permissible, I think we can since we are originating the broadcast.

Thanks, if I can't get off work to go watch then I'll need a way to listen and I don't live in th 16th region area anymore.:thumb:
I believe SV does have a pair of hold backs as well. My post was never intended to say being a hold back is bad. To say they are young is wrong though when they are 16 or 17 year old sophs and would be juniors if not held back.

well if they play senior's, and they do in the sixteenth, that have been held back and there are several, then they would be considered young! Especially to the senior's that have been held back two year's!!!!!!!! Some of the soph's who were held back are barely over 16, so they are young. I wasn't held back in high school and was 18 well before i graduated!!!! By the way 16 is very young regardless of what grade you are in!!!:D

Only one of them has started for three year's!!!!!!! They are young!!! They are sophomore's in high school regardless!!!!

Agreed Not many kids are ready for college, trade school, or a steady job at 17. I was 17 when I graduated from High School and was not ready for the real world. So what if they went to kindergarten:thumb: for 2 years makes them a better student. :walk:

I like the Lions by 10

I look for Ferguson and Ethan to have big games vs Shelby Valley

A couple of random thoughts:

If this game is in the 50's or 60's, SV will win.

In the 70' or 80's, Take Elliott Co.

Both teams are very young but SV has a couple that were at Rupp last time...Advantage? I don't think so.

Which team plays better defense???

Defense wins championships.

I don't think Elliott is as "young" as everyone makes them out to be. The sophs are older than your typical sophs since they are held back a grade and would be juniors if not held back. They are mature and that gives them an edge over SV too. EC by 8.

how many SV players are held back??????4 maybe 5?????

This will be the best game of the first round, and it will be played in front of the smallest crowd.

Maybe on the Shelby Valley side but the Elliott County crowd will be there in full force! Over 800 tickets were sold yesterday at school with additional tickets being ordered. I've also spoken to many other individuals who've ordered their tickets online just to make sure they have tickets in the lower levels.
