Shelby Valley vs. Elliott County, Thursday 6:30

Featured Replies

Ah, Wireman, finally something that you and I see eye to eye over. Elliott will win this game because they are top to bottom a smaller more conditioned team than valley. They run the floor better than any team in the state and there is a lot of floor at Rupp to run. Sorry Valley fans, it is what it is.

Elliott seems to be one of those teams where being small works to their advantage. Hard to match up with 4 and 5 guards. They seem to rebound well because they get to the boards so quickly a big man can't block them out. Elliott by 5.

Elliott Co. 65-59.

This will NOT be a low scoring game.

I've mellowed out after a few days away from the website! :ylsuper:

You don't think they know the size of the court ........?? They just played 3 games on the same size court in the Expo that will be in Rupp but better ...... The Expo court is a NBA court ...

Have you watched Elliott play in person this season? Shelby Valley had a pretty easy walk through the 15th region tourney and I don't think they faced a team that can run the entire game like Elliott.

I don't think Elliott is as "young" as everyone makes them out to be. The sophs are older than your typical sophs since they are held back a grade and would be juniors if not held back. They are mature and that gives them an edge over SV too. EC by 8.

I hate to go here again, but I don't think you are aware of their ages with respect to their classmates, so let it go.

Just to let those who can't be there know, we will be at Rupp to bring you the game. 102.3 fm WUGO.

Doesd't SV has a few hold backs themselves? Can anyone comment on this ? I do know that for years SV has held kids back in the 8th grade

I believe SV does have a pair of hold backs as well. My post was never intended to say being a hold back is bad. To say they are young is wrong though when they are 16 or 17 year old sophs and would be juniors if not held back.

When you play 6 sophomores, 2 eighth graders, and a senior - you're pretty young. No other way to look at it.

PLEASE! some of those sophomores have 3 years starting varsity experience. I am in no way downing them. I wish them all the luck and will be rooting for them come game time, but don't call them young.
