Everyone has had a chance to see the infamous elbow. No doubt a hard foul, I believe the term that was used during the telecast yesterday was "combative". Since we've heard from a few posters that it isn't in Henderson's nature to play this way, is there another explanation?

What went on during the timeout called by Duke with less than a minute to play. What did Coach K mean after the game when he said something along the lines of " Those players shouldn't have been in there. These things happen."?

By the way, I'm cribbing from Jim Rome on the thread title. Like to give credit where credit is due.

I dislike Coach K more than probably anyone, I think he's a weasel when it comes to badgering the officials, recruiting, etc., but he is not the type of coach that would ever "order" a flagrant/intentional foul. JMO.

^I agree. I am by no means a Duke fan or hater for that matter but Coach K is one of the top coaches of all time. Duke has a class program whether you like 'em or hate 'em.

As much as I don't like Duke or Coach K. I just don't believe he would do something like that.

Doubt it. He might of said don't let him score again but he never said hurt that kid.

If you watch replays, you see Coach K sitting on the bench sipping his bottle of DaSani and reading "Goonism" by John Chaney.

Never. Coach K is class all the way.

No he did not order the Code Red. But I bet he sure wanted to.

I believe he may have hinted to do something, but not that drastic.

Son, Duke plays in a world that has (basket)balls, and those balls have to be guarded by men with big guns.

Whose gonna do it? You? You, Mcpapa?

Coach K has a greater responsibility than you could possibly fathom. You weep for Hansbrough, and you curse the Blue Devils. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know. That Hansbrough's bloody nose, while tragic, probably saved points. And Coach K's existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves games.

You don't want the truth because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want Coach K on that court, you need Coach K on that court. We use words like honor, foul, cheap shot. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punchline.

Coach K has neither the time nor the inclination to explain himself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very winning seasons that he provides, and then questions the manner in which he provides them. I think he would rather you just said thank you, and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a ball, and play post. Either way, I don't give a darn what you think!

Very well done, instant classic:thumb: :thumb:

:thumb: I agree, I honestly don't think that he would either. I can't stand him either and I do think he is as you call him a "weasel" in that he inimidates officials, owns espn (they should rename it Kespn  ), goes to national media in the form of commercials for recruiting and such. "K" comes off as the "God" of basketball but he is far from it in my way of thinking but I do not think that he ordered it. I think that it was a frustrated/spoiled Dukie kid that was getting whipped by an arch rival and lashed out.

I will say after seeing the replay of the fouls more than several times today that I absolutley think that it was a "cheap shot". That kid should be suspended for more than one game if not all of the ACC tourney if they advance to play more than one game. JMO
