A very positive step for Holmes. Good luck Coach.

Congrats to the young man and best of luck. Now, where does that leave the GReendevils? Who will take that program? Herbst (def coord at SK and former Devil)? Rob Kiefer- former Devil and coach at Amelia I believe. Lets get a new thread going.

Seriously, if this is a done deal, Licker has a great opportunity to turn that program around.

I just spoke with the best source possible and there is no deal at the present time!

There might not be a deal in Covington with Mr. Lickert at the present time but I did hear up at the Pub that Gamer31 cut a long term deal in Lex this past weekend. Congrats Gamer31:thumb:

Life long contract, terms were not disclosed, but options are not an option anymore!!!

IF Lickert does indeed leave...

I do not think it will be Herbst, as he ran for the job before they hired Lickert and was shunned... I think it was a little of a "messy breakup..."

I have heard of Kiefer but don't know what he has done since leaving... how did Amelia do....

Now in my little peon humble opinion, IF Lickert were to leave, the best candidate IMHO, would be current OL/DL coach Zach Deaton... he has only been coaching for 2 years, both with Lickert at Dayton, but is in the same mold as Lickert, that being strong willed and a hard worker and all. Most importantly, he relates to the players at Dayton; he knows how to joke and be a players coach, but also knows when to lay down the line and when to work, which is something that the players respect/ed... only potential problem being is that some might say he is young for a HC position... then again... Lickert was hired in his early to mid 20's I beleive...

this takes into account that DC Craig Smith already has been down the HC line at Dayton and resigned, probably not interested in it again, and that Lickert was his own OC...

Keifer will not leave Amelia for two reasons.

1) Amelia is beginnig to get better, I beleive they went 1-9 in 2005 and 3-7 in 2006. It is work in progress, but they are getting better

2) Pay, his teaching job pays a whole lot better for the simple fact that he is in Ohio.

It will be hard to find out who next head coach is.

Sorry Guru, should have started another thread.

Coach you know I wish you the best, even if your 'H' is the wrong color.;)

If you need that 'sprayer' you know how to get a hold of me...:D

there are really no prospects for the job at dayton so far..... lickert has not turned in his letter of concent so the job is currently not OPEN.

What would he be consenting to? Qutting? Wouldn't that be a letter of resignation?
