February 21, 200719 yr I wonder why? Could it be bc we won? :sssh: . Surely not.  Imo they will certainly be back, are having to re organize as we speak after the dissapointing win and building more "bashing" material. LOL I agree with your opinion. I don't think many will be over joyed by a comeback victory over an unranked last place LSU team without their leading scorer at home. I'd say they are taking a breath getting ready for the final few games.
February 21, 200719 yr Excessive verbage? He was sitting not showing up he official..... If he was sitting down and talking about the officials mother than I can understand the T. He dropped an f-bomb on him after the technical so that makes me wonder what he had to say to get a T.
February 21, 200719 yr I don't think many will be over joyed by a comeback victory over an unranked last place LSU team without their leading scorer at home. Haha....no doubt. WHY would I have to be worried about IF we won this game? :D But fans are so happy that we ended the losing streak (me included) that they forget........this game was TIED with like 4 minutes left. We pulled this out of our proverbial rear-ends. :sssh: :sssh: I'm glad they won...we sorely/surely needed to. I called (as i'm sure many did) that UK would get their average scoring runs with some defensive pressure and COULD/SHOULD pull this out in the 2nd half. But I'm not emailing my Baton Rouge friends & rubbing anything in. :thumb: I had to drive home after halftime and on the way was actually worried about winning!!!!
February 21, 200719 yr Just not getting around to posting.... TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE game. Yeah they pulled it out, but it was crap. UK was out rebounded, and only had 4 offensive boards. Bradley had 4 TOs. Jasper is worthless on offense. Outside of Meeks, the bench was 1 of 4 from the field. I really don't think they played any better than they have the last 3 games. They just played a team that let them come back. It was ridiculous to see them come out and play as poorly as they did. Georgia will probably beat them if they play that way. Florida and Vandy will without question. My starting lineup from here on out: Bradley Crawford Meeks Thomas (Perry hit a 3 last night, so he'll go 1 for 10 each of the next 3 games.) Morris
February 21, 200719 yr I was very disappointed early in the game. Effort, boxing out, cutting and no enthusiasm. Disappointing early but nonetheless, a win.
February 21, 200719 yr It was a factor but not the reason LSU lost. LSU player gets fouled (in Brady's opinion) and UK takes the ball and scores. Brady gets the T. Meeks makes the FT. UK gets the ball after the T and Morris scores. If you assume that LSU could have scored on the initial possession its a 7 point turn around in a matter of seconds. Of course LSU folded and UK did have to score so it didn't have to work out that way, but it did and I'd say that was the real turning point in the game. FYI, LSU lost by 7 not 10. Actually UK would have had the ball anyway on the turnover. Assuming that Meeks scores on that possession anyway the only real gain was the two free throws and hurting Brady's feelings. It was a swing in momentum and most of this is "ifs and buts". Bottom line is LSU or anyone else cannot blame a loss on a technical foul in the first half. They had the entire second half to make up for it and did not.
February 21, 200719 yr The boxing out and rebounding was the most disappointing thing to me. Continually getting beat to the lose balls. On another note. Ramel Bradly has the potential to change a game. But he is a turnover waiting to happen. Jasper has been getting drilled for not shooting but Bradly shoots too much, dribbles too much and is not the answer at point gaurd. For those that want Meeks in the starting lineup. Replacing Jasper with Meeks and letting Bradly play the point is not the answer. It has already been tried once.

Bradley is a much better 2 than a 1.
February 21, 200719 yr Maybe you guys could challenge him to a spelling contest.:ylsuper::laugh:
February 21, 200719 yr UK would beat teams by a fairly large margin but they dont get off to a good starts and let teams jump out on em and get a led. and when they do get up on a team they seem to let them slip back in it at the end...
February 21, 200719 yr The announcers kept saying that they were better without him. I for one thought that was the dumbest thing I've heard in a while. They might have played better as a team, but your best player not being there can't be good. Ugly game and terrible officials. A lot of no calls on layups and guys attempting to take charges. The "block" on Bradley in the final seconds was an assault charge, the "charge" Meeks took where they called a block was textbook defense, and on Morris' 1000 point Bradley stripped the guy of the ball by coming across his wrists. The T???????????????? I'm not sure what that was, but it made for a great half time question/reaction. Who asks that anyway? Crawford showed up in Lexington 2 hours after the tip. Morris played good against a 180 pound center. (Better without Davis?) Meeks played VERY GOOD and it's a good thing. Wasn't it you that was defending Crawford yesterday, saying he doesn't disappear in games? I agree on Meeks. It will be interesting to see how Tubby can keep him out of the starting lineup next season let alone the rest of this season. Porter has frustrated me at times. I want to see him do well and his shooting can help but he makes too many mistakes out there. Not necessarily turnovers. A couple of the open 3's, it was his job to rotate to the shooter and he did not.

I might have defended him for nothing else but I don't recall me defending anything Wildcat in the last few days.
February 21, 200719 yr UK would beat teams by a fairly large margin but they dont get off to a good starts and let teams jump out on em and get a led. and when they do get up on a team they seem to let them slip back in it at the end... Meaning they can't play a full game, as usual. I agree with mobaar, UK didn't play any better, they were just lucky to be playing one of the worst teams in the conference. I just can't get excited about struggling to beat a team that was 14-12 overall and 3-9 in the conference (in the weaker division) on our home court minus their best player...especially coming off of a 3 game losing streak. Yes, a win is better than a loss, but there isn't a whole lot of good stuff to be said after that. At this point in the season, we should be better than that. College hoops can be crazy come tourny time, but it's hard for me to envision this team being much of a threat...a sweet 16 would be overachieving, IMO, unless they flip a magic switch and start playing for 40 minutes on gameday.
February 21, 200719 yr There are a few people missing from the thread tonight. This game does nothing to change my opinion that the program is heading in the wrong direction. I thought it at the 2 years ago, felt it stronger at the beginning of last year. You may remember that I caught a lot of flack for starting a thread questioning the programs direction. IMHO, its time for a change. Not just for UK's sake but also for Tubby.
