That is hilarious. No integrity anywhere to be found...

I think integrity is quite a word to throw around about asking people to enforce a growing number of safety fouls, formation rules, numbering exceptions, and in play fouls amongst 22 adrenaline charged teenagers at a time, for a low wage and zero accolade.

I obviously wished for this outcome, but didn't expect it. Colonels, we were due for a win. It's been awhile. You do know that except for tonight, we root for you. Let's hope we both bring home a

Sounds like an admission.

I.M.O. Beechwood could have thrown longer passes to Fryman and Arrasmith time after time for long plays, BUT it was important they controlled the clock and the OC and offense played that out very well with short runs and passes time after time. Beechwood could have picked what they wanted todo and they chose right!

I am not so sure. The game plan won them the game. I don't think Fryman ran one long pass route until the big catch on the last drive. And that play won the game for them. I am sure there was a reason for that game plan. Bottom line - Tigers win so that makes it the right plan.

Knee pads provide little to no protection anyway. That's become the norm now in HS, college and the pros. Anything to gain a step.

Totally agree. The Beechwood staff developed an absolutely perfect purpose built game plan tailored to beat CCH and it worked. You could not afford to sit Queen in the pocket and wait for the deep route to open because Johnny Lind and the CCH would have decimated Queen especially with His lack of mobility. The Beechwood coaching staff completely took away CCH's clear advantage at the Line and had Queen game Manage(instead of unleashing His cannon) by getting the ball out fast to the outside where 10-15 yard gains were the norm all night long. Throw in Pabst, who simply enough cannot be said about(WOW), and Fryman in an effective wildcat/change of pace, and you have recipe that turned out perfect. Beechwood game planned to take their weakness and turn it into a strength while negating CCH's greatest strength. I mean anything all night that came Lind's way He stuffed it and Beechwood in game adjusted spectacularly to account for Lind doing damage. As a Colonel fan it about made me ill, but as a football fan you to admire it and respect it. Kudos to the Beechwood Coaching Staff and respect to Lind and that Colonel DLine who are respected enough to be completely game planned around. We all won't see a Friday night like this for awhile. Great atmosphere, great game.....wish it was different outcome. Congrats Tigers and Roll Colonels!

Senior OT/DE Kingston Brockett. He is having an awesome year. He is a fantastic athlete - size, speed and athleticism. I could see him as a TE or pass rush DE in college.

A new record set tonight by Covington Catholic:

The fastest a scoreboard has ever been turned off at the end of the game.

They did their best to make sure of no pictures of that scoreboard for Tigers fans.

Agreed

Can confirm that the scoreboard crew at Cov Cath is made up of septuagenarians and that they have the scoreboard turned off at all games before they exit the pressbox to leave.

There was a heck of a crowd in the parking lot last night. Ever noticed how fast the greyhairs in the first few pews at church head for the parking lot after communion to beat the exit rush at mass on Sunday?

septuagenarians

A septuagenarian is a person who is between 70 and 79 years old.

Meaning and Origin

  • Definition: A noun or adjective used to describe someone in their seventies.

  • Origin: Comes from the Latin word septuaginta, which means seventy.

Related Age Terms

  • Sexagenarian: Someone in their 60s (60 to 69 years old).

  • Octogenarian: Someone in their 80s (80 to 89 years old).

  • Nonagenarian: Someone in their 90s (90 to 99 years old).

Usage Examples

  • "The active septuagenarian went to the gym every morning."

  • "Can confirm that the scoreboard crew at Cov Cath is made up of septuagenarians."

I also noticed once again that the NKY refs are definitely not enforcing the knee pad rule.

Is that still a rule ?

Yes.

I reached out to some powers that be and basically I was told no one in the school system (Admins, ADs, Coaches) are willing to enforce this on their own players so we have what we have.

I will add, we desperately need a rule change on knee pads.

Did I over look it? Does anyone have the game stats? Team and individual?
